Words, Like Bullets, Can Kill.
Words like a thousand stray bullets,
Can take aim at the heart,
Be careful how you use them,
We don’t all have bulletproof vests on,
Your words can hurt, and can kill,
As a writer, at least as a real one,
You swore an oath to God and to your pen,
To paper, to screen, you promised to be kind,
Don’t shoot to kill with hurtful words,
Don’t AK 47 out your perceived adversaries,
Know behind each word, each story,
There is a person, there is a soul,
There is a life lived, pain, suffering,
Someone on the brink of loss,
Someone suffering in absolute silence,
Be kind with your words,
You are sole responsible for what they convey,
You can make or break a person,
You can annihilate the gentlest soul,
You have a huge responsibility,
Don’t bulldoze others that write,
Don’t mock or bully or aim to destroy,
Do you know that you can kill someone with your words?
Do you realize that you might already have?
