Born 07/23/1961 in Texas. His father was convicted with a life sentence, and he was raised by his mother. Woody attended Lebanon High School and was an apprentice woodcarver at King's Island Amusement Park.

He got a BA in theater and English from Hanover College. Later worked in theater at NY. In 1985, ‘Cheers’, earning an Emmy Award.

He worked in the movies “White Men Can’t Jump,” “Money Train,” “LA Story,” “Indecent Proposal,” “Natural Born Killers,” “The People vs. Larry Flint,” and “The Thin Red Line.”

His career experienced a big leap with “No Country for Old Men,” “Zombieland,” “The Hunger Games,” and his most recent films “Venom,” “Midway,” and in post-production “Carnage”.

During his childhood he believed he wasn’t “normal”, due to his dyslexia, behaving unruly and uncontrollable, and was prescribed with Ritalin.
