Abstract

The poem "Wooden Canvas On An Art School" delves into the profound yet often overlooked beauty of a wooden log turned canvas at an art school. It emphasizes how this piece, though not the centerpiece of the show, captures a moment of tranquility and indifference, much like the fluid, inconspicuous moments that fill our lives. The author, Suntonu Bhadra, penned this piece on February 9, 2021, inviting readers to appreciate the value in the mundane and question the necessity of seeking significance in every aspect of life. The poem suggests that the true essence of life lies in its diversity, including the quiet, unassuming moments that often go unnoticed.

Opinions

  • The author believes that the wooden canvas, though not as prominent as other artworks, holds its own unique significance and beauty.
  • There is an appreciation for the effort put into highlighting the motionless expression on the wooden pastel, suggesting that even in stillness, there is a story to be told.
  • The poem conveys a philosophy that life's insignificant gestures are crucial, as they provide the context and contrast necessary to appreciate the more profound moments.
  • The author challenges the reader to consider why we often seek out only the precious or significant moments, implying that this pursuit might lead to overlooking the simple joys and necessary pauses in life.

A Free-verse poetry

the artwork surrounding the school was telling us stories unheard of our imagination filled the story of the artistic expressions

as passing by the wooden log outside the art show we stumbled upon this canvas

wooden, a bit neglected amongst the other highlighted drawings the woodwork on the canvas in a relaxed mood damn care attribute taking a bit of relaxation on his own

sat upon a muddy plateau looking to the passerby without questions to ask without answers to fill

nothing of that significance compared to other showcased canvases but the effort someone put into it highlighting the motionless expression on the woodwork pastel brought to the viewers

life contains diverse motions some contain significance some without significance why do we always have to ask for preciousness?

the insignificant gestures are the fillers of our life without their fluid presence, we might miss the moments that we opt for.
