Women’s Right To Vote
One hundred years ago, women fought tooth and nail to gain a right to vote and why you need to keep your voting right intact — -Vote.
Nothing comes cheap for women, including the right to vote. If you are a woman, never take your voting right for granted.
Women in the United States did not have the right to vote until 100 years ago. Why? Society believed women did not know how to vote, and they lacked the energy to walk to the polling station. Yep, scientists said, women were unfit to vote. It’s OK to laugh, but vote!
In a 2019 piece on the “scientific” arguments against suffrage, The Atlantic quoted, “Women simply had inferior brains, which made them unsuited to the rigors of voting,” says Cheryl Jorgensen-Earp, a professor at the University of Lynchburg. The latter studies rhetoric in science and the British women’s-suffrage movement. “Anti-suffrage cartoons poked fun at women’s reasoning ability … which showed the interior of a woman’s head filled only with letters, puppies, hats, chocolates, and the faces of admiring young men.”
Vote for your right.
Vote before politicians take away:
- Your voting rights
- Your driver’s license
- Cut off your parental rights because you are a woman.
- Your right to control your body
- Birth control medicine from your local pharmacy
- Burn your democracy
You have the power; hold politicians accountable with your vote.
Your vote matters. Have a plan to vote!
