Cooked carrots are a traditional side for a Sunday roast, but how can you make sure they aren’t bland?

This may sound weird, but trust me: boil them in orange juice.

In a glass of orange juice, mix:

  • half a teaspoon ground ginger
  • half a teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • one teaspoon coriander seeds
  • one tablespoon soy sauce.

Then simply boil carrots in this mix and make sure not to overcook them. They will turn out lovely and spiced with just the right amount of tart.
