With ILLUMINATION Book Chapters, I Finally Have the Courage To Write a Book
It’s a dream come true!
I have wanted to write a book since I was a teenager. I remember sitting at the desk in my bedroom with my powder-blue plastic Smith Corona manual typewriter in front of me. I was ready.
But then I realized that I had no idea what to write about, so I went back downstairs and watched Luke and Laura’s wedding on General Hospital. But I digress.
About 40 years have passed, and I still haven’t written a book. I publish my stories on Medium using an outdated MacBook Air, which at least is a step up from a manual typewriter. But as far as my progress with writing a book, I am stagnating.
I’m afraid that I will finally write my book, and it will suck.
Or if it doesn’t suck, what if no one reads it? What is the point of writing it if no one reads it? I’m afraid to take the risk of writing a book only to have a disappointing outcome for sales.
The only thing I am confident about is that I will self-publish. I want to have control over my product, and self-publishing will allow me to do that. Other than that, I am frozen with fear.
Fortunately, it looks like things are about to change.
Today, I came across yet another brilliant creation of Dr. Mehmet Yildiz. I have never met the man, but I am starting to visualize him as the Wizard of Oz, a man in a dark suit behind a giant curtain amidst a sea of swirling fog, transforming every idea he has into something tangible. He is brilliant; it blows my mind.
Anyway, he has created another publication called ILLUMINATION Book Chapters. It is a place where you can submit chapters from your published book, book reviews, author testimonials, or chapters from unpublished manuscripts.
This publication serves to give published authors a boost and provide a stepping stone for unpublished authors to become published authors.
