Summary

Witchy provides a humorous and unconventional tarot reading for Jimmy Misner Jr., drawing the Page of Rods and the 7 of Wands, offering a series of playful interpretations and life advice.

Abstract

In a lighthearted and whimsical tarot reading for Jimmy Misner Jr., Witchy, who is new to tarot and using Liberty's Medium account, pulls the Page of Rods and later the 7 of Wands from the Morgan Greer Tarot Deck. She presents a series of comical and confusing messages, poking fun at the idea of following instructions and asking for help. Despite the humor, Witchy ultimately distills her readings into practical advice about dealing with confusion, seeking clarity, and trusting one's intuition. The article also promotes Liberty's proper tarot readings and offers a link for readers to commission their own Witchy "Tarot reading."

Opinions

  • Witchy's approach to tarot is casual and humorous, as indicated by her self-portrait and the playful tone of the interpretations.
  • There is a self-deprecating acknowledgment that Witchy's understanding of tarot is limited, with the term "learning" used loosely to describe her tarot journey.
  • The article suggests that tarot readings, like life, can be ambiguous and open to interpretation, as evidenced by Witchy's multiple possible meanings for each card.
  • The importance of clear communication and understanding is highlighted, with a nod to Liberty's multiple divorces as an example of the need for clarity in saying "yes."
  • Witchy's final advice encourages self-reliance and intuition, advocating for asking for help when needed but also trusting one's "little voice" for guidance.
  • The article implies that directions, whether in life or in assembling furniture, are not always straightforward and may require going beyond the surface to find true understanding.

Witchy’s (Highly Questionable) Tarot Reading for Jimmy Misner Jr.

On reading instructions and asking for directions 🙄🤦🏻‍♀️

Note from Liberty: For those of you who might not be aware, Witchy ran a little contest in our Pub Family “newsletterish.” She is learning Tarot (and I use the term, “learning,” loosely) and offered ten free readings — which later became 11.

There were a lot of entries! Jimmy Misner Jr. is one of the lucky (?) winners!

Witchy doesn’t have her own Medium account (the idea of having one terrifies her, as do most things) so she is using mine.

Self-portrait by Witchy

Jimmy, I closed my eyes and did my best to concentrate on you while I shuffled the cards and pulled out one of them for you. I drew the Page of Wands, or in this deck, it’s called the Page of Rods. It’s that picture up at the top!

Then I concentrated even harder on the card so I could get a good message for you. I concentrated so much, I think my head got bigger. Or smaller. I do not know. It just feels weird.

Anyway, this is what I got:

“Hmm, this is supposed to be the telescoping model but the stupid thing doesn’t work!”

“Read the directions, dear. For once in your life. Please.”

“Bah! Directions are for sissies!”

I was not sure what all of this meant.

Do not buy products on the internet because you will get the wrong thing?

Check inside the box at the store, in case they put something else in there?

Yelling at a broken thing will not make it work?

You should tell people what to do?

You should let people tell you what to do?

You should not let people tell you what to do?

You should only read directions one time in your whole life?

Directions are dumb?

Oh, dear! Too many possibilities! I was so confused after all of this. The card was telling me a lot of things but I did not know which one was the right one.

(*Whispering*: That happens to me a lot.)

So I closed my eyes and pulled out another card to see if it could help me figure it out. I got this one:

This is the 7 of Wands. He is saying, “Dang! I hate IKEA instructions! How the heck do you know which one is ‘Stick A’?”

So I was even more confused. After all the possibilities for the first one, now I have another one: Directions are not always clear.

Kind of like reading Tarot cards. Hmm.

🤔

So how are you supposed to know what to do?

The Most Important Part:

I thought about this so much, all the thinks made my head hurt. But I am pretty sure I have a Big Important Message for you! Ready?

  • Do not yell at broken things.
  • Be sure what you are getting before you say yes. (Hmm. With Liberty’s too-many-to-count divorces, she should definitely do that)*
  • If you do not know where to start, read the directions.
  • If that does not work, ask for help.
  • If you get confused, if there are no directions, or if the help doesn’t help, go back to the beginning and ask that little voice in your stomach what to do. It gives the best directions of all.

*Note from Liberty: Live and learn. Yay, I learned.
