Witchy Interviews Elvie Lins on Being a Floppy Hat, Secret Modelling Clubs, and the Stupidest Hobby Ever
Wow, this is one inspiring young woman!

Note from Liberty:
Hello, and Happy Sunday!
Apologies for missing interviews for a couple of weeks. I’ve had Covid so Witchy has stayed away from me and my computer. We didn’t know if witches could get it so thought it better to be safe than sorry. I am recovering so we’re back to work!
As you may (or may not) know, our little blue witch friend is conducting interviews of our beloved Pub Family members. Today, Witchy shares her interview with Elvie Lins, a sweet and inspiring young woman with a powerful story.
Enjoy learning more about another fascinating member of our Pub Family!
As Witchy doesn’t have her own Medium account, she is using mine.

1) What do you love about writing?
Honestly, I have no idea how I end up writing. I think it got started with Facebook and I notice that my caption does not fit when I was posting some image or so. Writing seems so therapeutic when I did. Expressing my feelings is so satisfying. Writing to me is like letting go!
The second thing I like about writing is sharing information with others. A piece of information that maybe someone looking for some answers to. I love to share knowledge with others and this must be the reason why I love to write.
Witchy: Those are two wonderful reasons to love writing. I know you have a lot to share; Liberty and I have seen your YouTube channel!
2) If you could turn yourself into all the colors of the rainbow and different patterns, which ones would you choose?
Hahahaha!! Rainbow? OMG I love rainbow. I love all the colors in a rainbow. Because if one color is missing, I think it will not be complete. Don’t you think? Okay, but I still can give you my best color, I love Yellow and Green.
Witchy: Oh, my! I love the rainbow, too! Yes, I think if one colour is missing, it would not be complete. You would look extra pretty if you were rainbow-coloured.
Hmm, you would turn yourself into yellow and green. I wonder if that would be stripes? Polka dots? Plaid? Yellow and green paisley? I love paisley! You would be extra pretty like that, too. Although not as pretty as you are already.
3) If you were a hat, what kind would you be?
A Hat? Hummmmnnn, I like that kind of hat that has a wide coverage around your head so my face will be covered with direct sunshine as my eyes are super sensitive to bright sunlight. I guess because the studio lights make my eyes turn sensitive to the sun.
Witchy: You must mean a big, floppy hat? I like big, floppy hats. They are not at all like witches’ hats. Although I love witches’ hats, too. And my hat has a huge spider on it because I am terrified of them. 🕷😳 ️It is my desensitisation therapy. I know it’s up there but I don’t have to look at it.
4) What kind of a secret club would you like to start, and what would you do in it?
Oh no, no no!! This is a hard one, If I would have to create a secret club, I think a club for women who loves taking artistic pictures. I will teach them how to pose as models for taking nude images. Being club members, each member can take turns taking the other member’s photo. But to join the membership, will have annual fees. It will be costly.
Witchy: 😳 Oh, my! People actually do that? I never saw pictures like that in the Transylvania Forest and I did not know such things exist! I think people must be very brave, whether they are on the modeling side or the picture-taking side! I am too scared for both! Just thinking about it makes me want to hide under the bed! 💨 🛌🏼 👀
5) What is the dumbest way you’ve ever hurt yourself?
I was moving a huge dining table and because I was alone during it happened, I have to carry the table from one end at a time to the other. When I drop the table, the leg of the table landed on one of my toes. I have no idea how it happen but it did.
There is another one, just recently, I have this water boiler in the kitchen. So I fill it up with water and bring it to a boil, when it was boiling, I was trying to remove the power plug quickly and so my elbow hit the steaming pot and it got burned. It was so painful and I still have the burn marks today.
Witchy: Ow! Ow, ow, ow! 😖 I could feel both of those! Oh, dear, your poor, squished toe and your burned elbow! I hope they are not mad at you and they have healed fully.
6) What options would you make for right-clicking on people?
I don’t know if I do right-click on people though. I do not use a mouse but I guess there will be an option like delete? Ya, I think I would only right-click on people if I want to delete them.
Witchy: 😳
7) If you could come back in life as anything at all (animate or inanimate), what would you choose and why?
Oh, I like this one, I like to be a swan, But I like a male swan, the swan is so beautiful in my eyes, I like their widespread wings and I like how they float on a lake, life has so much freedom, carefree and can’t be bothered.
Witchy: Ohhh, what a lovely answer. I miss having the freedom to fly on my broom…ever since my secret trauma forced me to become vegan and without eye of newt and all that stuff, my spells went wonky and I crashed my broom into a tree. It was so humiliating. All the witches laughed me out of the Forest.
Hmm. I wonder if I could float on a lake. I have never tried swimming. I am too scared! I am scared of so many things but sh-h-h-h! Please don’t tell anyone! I do try to be brave but I still end up under the bed a lot. 🙄
8) Do you secretly love a book or a movie genre that would surprise people?
I have no specific secret book or movie. I like every book and movie that entertain me. I dislike war and killing stories though. Even on Medium, I do not read them.
Witchy: Oh, yuck! I do not like those stories either! Liberty does not read or listen to the news because of that, and I don’t either. We did not have “news” in the Transylvania Forest. There was no war and all the horrible things people do to each other. I was shocked to learn about such things when I left the Forest.
I love reading and watching funny stories, something that makes me laugh and feel good. I am learning that life is hard enough out here, outside the Forest. I like to find reasons to laugh and make people feel good.
And I love “Up.” Have you seen it? Oh, boy! What a terrific story! But it is kind of scary (I am afraid of heights! Sh-h-h-h! Please don’t tell anyone!).
9) What games are you good at playing?
I like games that make me think and the kind of games that makes me go through difficulties like puzzles and game boards.
Witchy: Oh, boy, you are smart! You must be very thinky! I am not very thinky most of the time, although I do like puzzles that don’t make my brain hurt.
10) Where is somewhere you absolutely never want to go?
I will never go to the peak of Mount Everest, though I like hiking dangerous places like Mt Everest is not for me.
Witchy: Oh, my! It is not for me either! Liberty and I watched some shows about that a little while ago and I hid behind the sofa most of the time! People actually die doing that! Why would anyone want to do something with a high chance of dying, and how could they call it fun or exciting?
I have a hard enough time standing on a chair when I cannot reach something in the top cupboards! My palms are sweating just thinking about it. No, thank you, no Everest for me! To me, that is the stupidest hobby ever.
11) What is the greatest thing you hope to achieve in your life?
A healthy and happy life is all I want to achieve now.
For material stuff: Can I say that I have achieved them all?
When I was young, I was homeless. I have few homes now. With my own hard earn income now it is giving me some returns.
I only had one pair of shoes when I was a young adult. Now, I can buy many shoes as I want.
I could not eat or dine anywhere as a young kid and a young adult in a restaurant or even buy a Macdonald’s meal. Now, I can dine at any restaurant but I do not do this often because I prefer to make and cook my own food for health reasons.
Witchy: Oh, my goodness! Elvie, you have sure come a long way since those scary times when you were young! You have worked hard to make a better life for yourself. That is a most inspiring story! Thank you for sharing it and for being my guest today. It was fun to learn more about you.
