I Wish to Be Reborn As Tree

Tall, verdant, and wise

I wish to live in the woods. To be reborn as trees. As tall as I could grow Without any inhibitions Or burdens of expectations I want to be free And swing as hard as I can When the strong breeze blows I sway as per my wish To touch my neighbor trees And listen to their hearts While I whisper the message of love.

I can’t do that, as humans Because everyone is busy With their lives, running aimlessly Chasing the mirage of happiness By leaving behind their human love Exploiting one another At least the trees are generous enough. To help one another And support each other When faced with a storm I love to live that life Where we all grow together And perish together While we have each other's backs How serene would be that scenes Living in those woods as trees.
