Stoic Wisdom
Wisdom from Meditations: Daily Quote to Help You Through The Day
A tiny bit of wisdom for your day, originally written by Marcus Aurelius, with a personal comment.
For today I have found a piece in the Meditations of Marcus Aurelius about enduring hardship.
“What humans experience is part of [the] human experience. The experience of the ox is part of the experience of oxen, as the vine’s is of the vine, and the stone’s what is proper to stones. Nothing that can happen is unusual or unnatural, and there’s no sense in complaining. Nature does not make us endure the Lounendurable.”
Whenever you feel like you are going through tough times or feel strong anxiety, it is easy to start to feel lost. It might even be the case that what you are going through is too much for you to handle. In this moment, however, remind yourself that everything you experience is part of the human experience. Nothing that you feel or go through is strange to humankind.
