Winters Are About to Come and so the Changes
The season that is closest to my heart

Today, my mother had a laundry session, she washed our blankets — one of the first things that come to mind when thinking of winters. Well, the preparations have been started for the winter.
All the summery attire will be exchanged for warm clothes, sweaters, jackets, hats, gloves, and socks. Socks, I usually don't wear a lot of warm stuff and that doesn't bother much but if I don't wear the socks — my whole body would get freeze. How can I forget those nights when I used to rub my feet for hours until they became warm enough to sleep?
Warmth, the major thing we want in winter and people do a number of things to get that warm feeling. What I do for warmth is eating delicious soups and drinking hot cups of coffee. I can't explain how much I like to have sips of hot coffee while covering myself with a blanket or to have a spoonful of creamy, warm soup again and again until the bowl gets finished.
Another thing that I like about winters is silence, especially on nights. We literally hear the sound of the trains passing through, even though the tracks are far away from our house. These silent nights with fog everywhere appear to be somewhat horror but beautiful too if we look at them from a different angle.
I prefer a long walk on these wintery nights, feeling the chilled wind slapping on the whole body especially the face. What if I would put my ice-cold hands on my face? Shivers.
Remember those shivers too, when the cold water runs down the skin? When we were children, my mother used to send us to the backyard, after giving a shower to all three of the siblings, and we stand under the not so hot sunlight spot, shivering.
Sometimes, we children went to our grandma’s room where she kept an electric heater — her room used to be always warm. We three sat there and started talking about silly things but our grandma never let us felt so, she always listened joyfully. Ahh, she is no more with us but her memories still live within us.
The temperature changes everything with itself from attires, meals to feelings, experiences and so much more. Every season has its own joys, memories, good or bad but heartwarming. We like a particular season more, maybe because it is associated with good memories, and I like winters because I have so many precious memories of it that make me smile. It's all about memories and experiences.
