White Winter Scenes in Florida

We enjoy the season’s whites.

Happy Holidays (photo by author)

It is winter in Florida with cool temperatures. We are having a drought here in central Florida but we had rain last week that was enough to get the Florida snow flower blooming. This is as close as we will get to having fields of white “snow flakes”. We enjoy the scene in our front yard area.

A great egret posed today with a flamingo statue and a pot of poinsettia leaves. What could be more Florida than this scene?

The wood storks continue to wander around the neighborhood pond. We love their ugly faces and beautiful white and deep black feathers.

Today while weeding and trimming in the garden, I saw this lovely decoration in the flower box just underneath my bedroom window. The grandkids were thrilled when I showed it to them. We know it is a snake skin and think it is from a black racer snake. We see the racers in the garden now and then.

We don’t have as many colorful holiday lights up in the neighborhood as we usually do. Maybe I will get some colorful night light scenes in the next week or so.

Inside the house, our Elves on the Shelves are playing their nightly game of finding a new place to rest for the day. The grandkids love searching for them each morning.
