Win Or Lose: What Is Better?

Everybody has a list of their wins and losses. They play a key role in our life. Of course, we would all like to have more victories in our lives, but it is hard to imagine life without defeats.

In our minds, victory is perceived as something worth striving for, something that fills life with excitement and other fresh feelings. Things look different when we lose: tears, disappointment, sadness. Is there really that much of a difference between winning and losing?

The reality is, if we are not afraid to accept our defeats, then we are already winners by default.

Victory is never easily granted and being defeated is twice as difficult to swallow. Courage, in this case, is a must-have! Needless to say, failures and defeats help us be better prepared for the next challenges and shape a better version of us. Not everyone sees it this way, however, if you do, then you won’t allow your losses to kill your desire to continuously try until victory is yours.

Consider even minor achievements that led you to a bigger success. Each win is a building block that one day makes us more confident, shaped, intelligent, and ready for more challenges. Take defeats in a healthy way and look at them as an opportunity to identify your gaps, and improve and hone your skills.

When you win, you always experience pleasant feelings, and it seems like the world is yours. When you lose, it’s hard to control your emotions.

Anyway, both winning and losing are beautiful. They are two “brothers” that walk with each other. There is a thin and invisible line between them. The difference is the following.

You enjoy and benefit from a victory instantly! But losses often turn out to be more valuable life lessons because you remember them for many years to come and do everything to ensure future victories in life.

From life experience

Yesterday my 9-year-old son took part in Yerevan Spring Run charity running event. The distance was 1 km. It was his first experience of running. He does not have any special training in running, just does football twice a week.

He thought he would win because “he runs like Mbappe” 🤣and was very upset that he didn’t take the first place. But he was in TOP-10 with 4:58 seconds! For me, it is a real win. Now he is motivated to be the winner for the next year and plans on taking more training.

Young “Mbappe” )))

Final thoughts

Out of the two chess players, only one will win, and the other will gain experience. This experience is perhaps more important than the champion’s cup because it gives us motivation, a strong drive for improvement and self-development.

Fail fast and forward! I will cover this topic in the next articles.😃
