The obsessive unstoppable thinking
Chances are you’ve experienced this obsessive thinking that drives you crazy because you just can’t stop thinking about your twin flame. This is entirely normal, and I’m here to explain why.
This intense, often overwhelming preoccupation with your twin flame is a common part of the journey. There are several reasons why it occurs. First and foremost, twin flames share a profound, soul-level connection that transcends the ordinary, making it nearly impossible to stop thinking about them. This connection feels like an invisible thread pulling you toward one another.
Additionally, when twin flames experience periods of physical or emotional separation, it can trigger intense anxiety, fueled by the fear of losing your twin or not being reunited. Many twin flame connections involve unresolved issues from past lives or earlier in this lifetime, and these lingering issues can further intensify obsessive thoughts as you grapple with understanding and resolving them.
The twin flame journey is not just about romance but also about personal and spiritual growth, and the intense focus on your twin may be a way for your soul to push you to confront your own issues and grow. Furthermore, the energetic bond between twin flames is strong, leading to a constant feeling of your twin’s presence or emotions, further intensifying the urge to think about them.
Finally, twin flames often mirror each other’s emotions and experiences, so when your twin flame is struggling or going through a challenging period, you might also feel their pain, which can contribute to obsessive thoughts. Understanding these underlying reasons can help you make sense of your obsessive thinking. In the next sections, I will share with you my experiences.
My experience
When I first met my twin flame and experienced that magical period, I couldn’t have anticipated the emotional rollercoaster that followed when he suggested we should remain friends. It felt like the whole world collapsed within me.
This initial shock highlighted my lack of self-confidence and my desperation in previous relationships. The deep, instantaneous connection we shared made the thought of losing him excruciating, further magnified by my struggle with self-love.
I couldn’t comprehend why he didn’t want to be with me, and this confusion compounded the emotional turmoil. It’s a bewildering experience that many of us on this journey go through. You find yourself constantly thinking about them, torn between the desire to forget and the inability to do so.
You may grapple with a mix of anger and love, adding to the internal confusion. But fret not, because I’m here to share some tips that helped me cope with this emotional turbulence.
Coping advices to cope with this unstoppable hell
1. Cry
If you feel the need to cry, don’t hold back your tears. Allowing yourself to express your emotions is important, as bottling them up can lead to more significant problems later on. Take a step back, find a quiet place, whether it’s your bed or under the shower, and let it out. Let yourself purge this pain, and believe it or not, crying can be incredibly helpful. However, remember not to get stuck in this phase.
2. Talk with others
After you’ve let your emotions out, it’s beneficial to spend time with people like your family, friends, or someone you trust. While you may not be able to discuss your twin flame journey with them since they might not understand, you can ask your friends to lend an ear. However, it’s not advisable to focus solely on your twin flame when talking to them. They won’t understand the depth of your situation, and it’s not in your best interest either. Instead, try to find a different topic that interests you and steer the conversation in that direction. Additionally, ask them to engage in a more balanced conversation where you talk as much as you listen. This way, you can prevent your thoughts from constantly drifting back to your twin flame during moments of silence.
3. Express your feelings
Try to find an outlet that allows you to express your feelings. It could be through dance, singing, or writing or anything else which makes you feel better. Personally, I found solace in listening to music that resonated with my emotions and singing along. Eventually, I transitioned to more uplifting songs that helped improve my mood. Avoid getting stuck in a cycle of depressing breakup songs. Instead, focus on cheering yourself up! Dancing is another fantastic way to express yourself. While you dance, you can reduce stress and alleviate depressive thoughts. Alternatively, consider taking up a sport or any activity you enjoy. I understand that starting may be difficult, but over time, you’ll feel the benefits. Writing in a diary is also highly recommended; it can be incredibly therapeutic.
4. Be in nature
I also recommend that when you’re feeling sad, lonely, or experiencing any negative emotions, spend some time in nature. Go for a walk or simply stay outside, and try to appreciate the moment. Listen to the birds chirping or take in a beautiful view. Walking can also do wonders to improve your mood.
5. Detach from your twin and focus on your self-improve
The most crucial aspect of this journey is to distract yourself from your twin and focus on your own personal growth. As I mentioned earlier, I realized I lacked confidence and self-love. So, I decided to work on improving these aspects. I’ve always been fond of Louise L. Hay’s books, so I delved into them and discovered “Mirror Work,” which is incredibly beneficial. It involves daily reading, meditation, journaling, and positive affirmations that you say to yourself while looking in the mirror. It may be a significant challenge at first, but don’t give up! It’s highly effective.
6. Stop checking them
Please, I urge you to stop checking your twin flame’s Facebook, Instagram, or any other online platforms where you can follow their activities. And don’t read messages from them and don’t even try to text them. Furthermore, it’s essential to let go of tarot card readings and other similar practices. These habits won’t assist you; instead, they’ll only keep you overly focused on your twin flame, leading to further distancing between you two. I guess that’s not what you want to happen.
I acknowledge that this journey is incredibly challenging, filled with numerous highs and lows. However, I want to remind you that you have the strength to endure it. You can do this. Believe in yourself. Whether your journey continues with your twin or takes a different path, it will make you a stronger and better person. But, remember, don’t get stuck in your pain. Get up, and work on yourself, not for anyone else or your twin, but for YOU!
