He carefully soldered the last piece and connected the finished circuit to the device. With satisfaction, he set the timer to 5 minutes and sat back.

It was a pleasing thought...there was enough force in this dirty bomb to reduce this city to rubble and render it uninhabitable for years to come.

Four.

But destruction was not the end, merely the beginning.

Three.

Just a means to an end.

Two.

In time, nature would come and reclaim this space.

One.

Wilderness would take over from concrete, steel and glass. This land will be remade once again. Wild and free.

Zero.
