Summary

The article discusses the common pitfalls of startup founders, emphasizing the importance of organized work distribution and team building to avoid burnout and ensure success.

Abstract

The article, based on insights from failed startup ventures, underscores the detrimental impact of multitasking on a founder's ability to manage a startup effectively. It highlights the personal journey of an entrepreneur who, after two unsuccessful attempts, learned that trying to juggle multiple roles without proper delegation can lead to exhaustion, loss of mental peace, and even family issues. The founder's experience illustrates that while hard work is essential, it should not translate into shouldering all responsibilities alone. Instead, building a skilled team and organizing tasks according to individual strengths can lead to better results and create multiple revenue streams. The article suggests that even with limited funds, founders can start by working with freelancers or interns before transitioning to permanent hires. It also invites readers to engage with the author on social media and offers resources for aspiring entrepreneurs.

I am writing this article after discussions with many Founders, CEO’s and learning the process of success in Startups.

I met with a person last month who is doing well in his current business after failing twice in his startups.

He said he is happy that he learned the lessons early otherwise it would have been difficult for him.

Why did he fail in his first two startups? :

He started his first startup in 2016 and another one in 2019 and failed. According to him, the reason for his failure was his multi-tasking.

Yes, he started something but never organized the work. He was a CEO, himself a marketing guy and then managing the calls and development by himself.

It was due to insufficient funds and he just wanted to get a start and then expand the team and distribute his work.

But in this hard work — he lost mental peace, he was exhausted, Everything was working in his mind when he tried to sleep. Due to all this, he was facing family issues too because he was not able to spend some quality time with the family. Due to all this frustration, he was not able to get any clients for first two months, and doing everything without earning something was a dark phase for him.

At last, he quit building his own start-up.

  • He learned that multitasking can kill dreams.
  • We must not walk alone always.
  • Everything must be organized.
  • Build a team that can work as per their skills and give you results.

You are building something and you should Manage it. You should see how to expand the same. How different revenue streams can be created from your product.

Your mind should work as executing officer, not multitasking every time.

So, hard work does not mean that you should do everything on your own. Distribute your work, manage it, and build the best.

We can do wonders if our mind is at peace and our body is fit. Many minds can build what can be the best. We can let the person with best skills to work on something that is our dream. If you are facing the issue of funds, first try freelancers and people who are ready for internships. You can hire them permanently once you are good for that.
