Why You Should Talk To Yourself And Why It’s Not A Mental Disorder
We May Be Geniuses in Disguise And Don't Realize It

This question just popped up in my mind recently and the question is this
Why do I talk to myself?
When others around me hear me talking to myself they tell me to stop doing that or they may ask me if I’m talking to myself, or who am I talking to.
People talk to themselves for many reasons, including self-criticism, self-reinforcement, social assessment, problem-solving, and motivation.
While there are mental health conditions linked to self-talk, it can be an effective way to cope and is a natural part of human existence.
I watched this TED talk and it gave me a visual perspective on this concept
So you now may be wondering if talking to yourself is considered a mental health disorder.
Well, research shows that talking to yourself is a normal behavior that is not a symptom of a mental health condition.
More research shows that talking to yourself may indicate a higher level of intelligence.
I find that talking to myself helps me gain clarity on what I’m doing throughout the day.
I do it when I’m taking showers and it seems like that’s when all my ideas come together. I do it when I’m taking walks outside or sitting on the front porch, and that’s honestly when my most curious, creative thoughts come to mind.
I talk to myself every day and I don't feel bad about it and neither should you
I hope this makes you feel like the genius you were made to be and created to be as much as it does for me
