Why You Should Know Your Erotic Blueprint

It can change everything you thought you knew about sex

By Andrew Poplavsky BADZ-X63aQ0

Being single for some time has taught me a lot when it comes to my sexuality. With coming up over a year, I've hit a dry spell, and I'm not quite sure why, especially since it is one of my favourite adult pleasures.

Having two lockdowns from Covid-19 hasn't helped. A minor car accident and a health issue have kept my sexual quest at bay.

What can you do if you have hit a dry spell?

Working on yourself through self-reflection is the obvious answer, which I continue to do, but it is becoming dull. Until I came across the Netflix show "Sex, love and the Goop" starring Gwyneth Paltrow, I remember her getting some slack a few years ago about another wellness show she hosted called "The Goop Lab." but the title intrigued me, so I gave it ago.

As I watched the first couple of episodes, I was hooked, not only that I was emotional and tearing up. The brave couples that put their sex lives on display for the world to see were touching, and the practitioners that guided them back to their sexuality were astounding.

“They didn’t teach us this kind of stuff in school.” I thought to myself.

This show opened my eyes wide open with having a better understanding of tantric sex, climbing around like animals on the floor while growling, and the possibility of full-blown body orgasms. Still, most of all, hearing for the first time the term Erotic Blueprints.

What are Erotic Blueprints?

Throughout time society has made erotica taboo, leading many of us to suppress our sexual desires. When talking about erotica, it's not just about whips and chains. It's more about what you want to experience with your sexual partner. By understanding your blueprint, you will expand your knowledge and ask for what you wish when it comes to your pleasure.

When you can healthily communicate your desires, you can deepen the bond and feel more confident with your partners. By setting boundaries, you can keep both of you physically safe, leading to a more satisfying connection.

There are five Erotic Blueprints

#1 — Energetic

If you're an energetic type, you will most likely enjoy the presence of your partner's energy before your clothes start to unravel.

Energetics enjoy intimate eye contact, whispers in the ear, light touches all over their body and anything that builds the erotic tension.

Some toys to consider are feathers, tasselled riding crop and massage oil. If you can tease them slowly but not too long, you could have them having a full-blown body orgasm in no time.

Some things to consider are energetics can be highly sensitive, so make sure you set boundaries so they don't feel overwhelmed.

#2 — Sensual

Sensual blueprints enjoy engaging all their senses, such as touch, taste, smells, hearing and sight.

You have a playground of options for this blueprint type. Drizzle some chocolate over the navel while you blindfold them and feel them become aroused with excitement as you slowly lick the tasty treat off them—light some scented candles and soft music playing in the background for ambiance to add a nice touch.

Sensual types need to feel relaxed to stay focused on the moment. They can become quite tense and turned off if they are stuck in their head during intimacy.

#3 — Sexual

You won't need much prepping for this blueprint type. Sexuals like to get down without much effort as long as you're naked and ready for frequent sex. Organisms can come easy, and they generally look at sex as fun.

They might not be opened minded when it comes to foreplay and toys because the act of sex alone stimulates them.

#4 — Kinky

Loves to explore the kinky side of sexual play but can become quite ashamed of their desires if they don't have a supportive partner.

Exploring the kink community is an effective way to help this blueprint type open up. From bondage, gagging, foot fetish and group sex, nothing is off-limits for this kinky explorer.

Having a safe word during play is a way to limit any boundaries that could be crossed during sex. Remember, you are never required to do anything that makes you feel uncomfortable.

#5 — Shapeshifter

The shapeshifter is the golden star. They can shift from sensual, sexual into kinky and please every blueprint. You'll have to be creative and adventurous if you want to keep up with this type.

As much as they have ample experience, they can become overwhelmed with the constant shifting. Shapeshifters may lose themselves by not being vocal about their wants and shapeshifting into their partner's desire while ignoring their own.

Somatic Sexologist Jaiya, one of the practitioners on the Netflix show "Sex, love and the Goop," has decades of experience in clinical research and client observation. Her best-selling books "Red Hot Touch" and "Cuffed, Tied & Satisfied." have helped satisfy many sex lives worldwide.

In Closing

When you start to understand your sexuality and desires with your partners, you view sex through a new lens. Exploring sex toys, tasting foods, movies, and everything in between shouldn't be considered taboo but should be regarded as sex education.

Stepping into your sexual power will create confidence and knowing exactly what you want when it comes to your pleasure.
