Why You Never Say “NO” in an Affirmation
The Last Word
I didn’t know this, but it turns out that you’re not supposed to say the word NO in any affirmation you say. Evidently, if your brain hears, “I Don’t Smoke” it translates this to, “I Smoke.” Or, if you were to say, “I am not fat” it hears, instead, “I am fat”.
Evidently, our brain is six years old. It doesn’t understand the word no.
So, as all our new year’s resolutions are right around the corner, you can start thinking now how to word your affirmations:
I am slender.
I love exercising.
I dance around the house.
I am kind.
I am supportive.
I am a writing machine.
I get dressed every day.
I drink lots of water…what? The brain doesn’t understand lots? Okay, I drink 4 big glasses of water every day.
Who said that?
I did.
Seth? (Seth is my guide.)
Yes.
Have you got any suggestions?
Yes. You could call your doctor and get some lab work done.
I don’t want to.
I know you don’t. But you asked for suggestions. Think of how not doing something as simple as that takes energy. It takes energy to think of it. It takes energy to ignore and shunt it to the back of your mind. It boings back into your consciousness like a rubber band. Just get it done so you don’t have to think about it anymore.
I suppose I could clean the house and do the finances too.
Yes, I suppose you could.
Hey, thanks for showing up and talking about all those things I don’t want to do.
You’re welcome.
