Why You Need Self-Improvement in Your Life More Than Ever
Because it’s the cheat code to life

On the 4th of April, 2017, I crossed the Mediterranean sea to Europe from Africa after traveling across the Saharan desert for a month.
And as dangerous as the journey via this channel was, I didn’t care as speculated by the media.
At that time, I was fed up with life and seriously needed a change — so anything to get me that, I was all for it.
Everything I had to spend my life to work for didn’t give me what I wanted out of life. I was broke and unhappy and couldn’t meet all my needs for my survival.
I became confused with life. Smoking and drinking became my two best friends because my job at the radio station, as a news producer, had come to an end — contract terminated by new management that had taken over.
But before leaving the radio job, the then business manager, who’s a great friend, sat me down for a Lil chit-chat about life and ending our conversation; the last words that came out of his mouth was, “work on yourself.”
I didn’t understand him when he made the statement, but I do now.
Fast forward after my journey, I found myself in Spain, and after one year, God being good to me, I secured my documents to be in the country legally and was ready to access life.
One night on the internet, while scrolling through youtube, I came across audio by Dr. Myles Monroe and Les Brown, which was about self-improvement and why it’s necessary for success in life.
Desperate to change my life but didn’t know how I downloaded the audio because the message resonated with my soul and listened to it every day — call it my breakthrough to reality.
From that moment, I understood that if things in my life were going to be the way I want them, it’s depended on me to make it happen. So I decide to go on a journey to make that happen.
The beginning of the journey — Small beginnings
“No matter who you are, no matter what you did, no matter where you’ve come from, you can always change, become a better version of yourself.” ― Madonna
One night in my single rented apartment room, while trying to make something out of the message I had heard from the audio, I took a pen and wrote down all the things I would love to do with my life and who I wanted to become.
After doing that, the next was to decide “how" I will become that.
I started buying personal development materials — books, programs, etc. and made youtube my second home to study and improve myself.
And from one book to another, absorbing what I was reading together with the other messages from youtube and other places on the internet, I realized a change in life.
I had developed the habit of reading and had fallen in love with learning. I quit smoking and drinking, started exercising, meditating, and implementing what I had learned from the resources that I was using.
A year later, I became someone different. I developed what the expert call self-awareness and got my life in a new direction.
Two years into self-improvement — The result
“People do not decide their futures, they decide their habits and their habits decide their futures.”―F. M. Alexander
Two years into my self-improvement journey, I have developed an awareness of myself that when I have negative emotions at any particular point in time, I’m able to drive myself out of it.
I have discovered the writing potential in me, and now, I’m writing when back then, the idea of it didn’t occur to me, although I was working as a news person. I’ve also started working on my first book.
I no longer blame circumstances and people for the results in my life but have taken 100% responsibility. I’ve become conscious of my time and are questioning things I’m doing every second to determine if I’m using it right.
I go to bed early, unlike yesterday where I didn’t. I take a frequent assessment of myself to know if I’m still on track to the person I’ve decided to become and what I need to do right. I don’t engage myself with people whose lifestyles cannot help me become who I want to become. I exercise daily and try to eat as healthy as I can. Etc.
Why you need self-improvement in your life than ever
If you look at the little life story of mine that I’ve shared with you, you’ll find that when my life was in the drain wasting away, it was self-improvement that helped me regain it back — Thanks to the audio I chanced on from youtube.
And if there’s anyone who’s life isn’t in the right direction like it should, the only thing that can help the person is self-improvement. No other tool out there to save the person. And the same is for you concerning your life.
I can give you a bazillion reasons if you ask me why?
Because you and I have heard many success stories in the world, and among all these stories, there isn’t a singular story that the person said they became successful without self-improvement. Or when their life fell apart, there was something else that they used to revive it other than self-improvement.
Ask for expert advice today on how you can bring your life back on track if it’s fallen apart, and the #1 advice you’ll receive is “work on yourself.”
And what is it? Self-improvement.
With this, you can understand why self-improvement is the only cheat code to life, and the only thing that can help you overcome life’s difficulties and achieve the life you want.

In conclusion
Looking back on my life — where it was and how it was, I’m always thankful for self-improvement.
If it weren’t for it, I wouldn’t know how things in my life will be by now.
Through it, I’ve gotten the nerve to write this article telling you about it and why it’s the only tool for a better life. And as it’s helped me break free from bad habits and put my life on track to becoming the person I was born to become, I hope you’ll make it a part of you and become your very best too.
Because with all the shit that we are going through in this life, self-improvement helps us overcome it all, and if you can make it a part of you, you’ll always be proud that you did.
So I hope you do.
