Why Writing Ease My Pain
Writing gives space into my system.
I believe everyone has had a sort of pain in their life. Think about abuse, manipulation, gaslighting, and bullying. These things are having an impact on someone’s life. It has on mine.
These events are not the only one that causes pain by the receiver, but also words and phrases that have been said or written often addressed to that person, and maybe in general. It hurt a lot.
There are some activities you could do to ease your pain. For each person it is different. That is great, because you have found your way of coping with that pain, or you are learning how to cope with your pain.
I believe there is no general treatment for everybody on earth. There are personal beliefs, there are personal interests, there are personal characters, and when you are having a treatment based on that person, you have the right treatment. It fits with that person.
I love to play the violin, as that makes me happy. I don’t think about anything else than the music I am playing.
There are other activities I love to do as well while I’m not thinking about my pain. Such as painting, walking, playing with my children, and writing. These activities ease my pain a lot.
One activity I love to do as much as playing the violin, is writing. Writing also helps me to ease my pain. It is like you put a warm blanket on your body while watching a movie.
When I write
When I write, I can easily write down my thoughts. Whether it is in my notebook, in my diary, here on Medium, or on Vocal, I write my thoughts. No matter the topic. It could be politics, my feelings, raising children, about music, or whatever I love to write about.
These thoughts and feelings ease my pain, just like my hobbies. I lost my thoughts and feelings onto paper which is — for me — a relief. I can do something else at that moment after I wrote them onto paper. I can give priority to something else.
It feels more empty in my whole system. My head is a little bit more empty at that moment as well. I don’t think about anything else then.
I try to write at least every day a few things, even if they are some draft or unfinished writings because it is off my system at that moment. That is for the goal of writing, next to that it is also my job now. Some things can turn into your profession.
I love about writing that it doesn't have to be pressure. It is so much fun too.
