Why Would Trump Want A Second Term?

He wants it badly

When Donald Trump became President of the United States, it seemed unlikely that he would run for a second term. Vice President Mike Pence was the probable choice to run for President after Trump finished his first term (since he survived the impeachment process and remained as President). Now Trump badly wants to receive a second term.

Who would have ever thought he would want a second term? He was already a billionaire, and he had never had any political experience or held an elective office. Why wouldn’t he want to go back to his billionaire life without having to worry about anyone else?

It does seem strange that he would want to continue in this job any longer but for his ego. Maybe it is because he can continue his lifestyle and do whatever he wants while being President. Someone else can pay for his lifestyle. He can be in power and have control.

It is well known that he does not like any criticism. He will bully anyone who dares to say anything against him. He will call them names and tear them down without any qualms. He has quite possibly made more enemies than anyone else in the world. He is likely the world’s biggest bully.

Trump also cannot admit to any mistakes or wrongdoing. He will never apologize for misdeeds.

He claims he is a genius and knows “more than the generals” about war. He says he passed tests with flying colors although medical doctors explain that the tests were simple. He brags incessantly about anything and everything.

How did someone like Trump become President of the United States?

There are probably many reasons. Some people were disillusioned with the way Washington was going, and they liked his promise to “drain the swamp.” Some of that swamp turned out to be his strongest allies such as Mitch McConnell and Lindsey Graham. They are in close elections now so that may help drain the swamp.

Some people were happy with his immigration ideas and his promise to have Mexico pay to build a wall at the border to keep immigrants out of the United States. They may have liked the idea that he was an outsider who had never been involved in politics previously.

Some people thought Hillary Clinton would win handily and did not bother to vote although she won the popular vote.

There are people who liked him during the last election. Some do not like him now, but it is obvious that many still do. They are willing to overlook the fact that his moral behavior is directly opposite of what they proclaim is important in their own lives.

This election between Donald Trump and Joe Biden is very important. It will be over soon.
