Why We Can’t Allow a Traitor, Racist, Sex Offender on the Ballot
Has the United States of America lost all reason?
Imagine if being called a traitor was only the third worst thing people said about you. You’d assume that there would be little argument that you probably weren’t an ideal candidate for the most powerful political office in the world.
And yet…
It’s kind of hard to have any respect for a group of people that would rally behind a sex offender, but we know that happens. To make matters worse, we have evidence that tens of millions of people are willing to put on the blinders and vote for a candidate who has declared his eagerness to become a tyrant.
This whole sad movement is held aloft by the rallying call to “Let the voters decide.” However, at every turn, our government has impeded the ability of citizens to vote. Not all citizens, naturally, just the ones who have been historically disinclined to vote for a traitor, racist, or sex offender.
“Let the voters decide” is a disingenuous argument. The voters have already decided. There’s no need to wait on any future results, the politicians who can turn popular policy into law have already won elections. The arguments against productive action are distortions of the truth designed to enable further oppression.
You have the right to a speedy trial because you should be spending the meantime in jail, not out campaigning for the highest office in the land.
We have to have safeguards that protect our society from traitors, racists, sex offenders, and worse. The last thing we should do is allow them to run for president.
The wild card of a third party candidate
If there were only two candidates on the ballot, I’m confident that the majority of the American people would vote against the traitor, racist, sex offender.
The problem is that it’s unlikely there will be only two candidates. In fact, there are some pretty high profile third party candidates who are openly mulling the idea of throwing their hat into the ring.
Maybe they get zero votes.
Maybe they get a third.
If they’re on the ballot, you just don’t know what will happen. This is why we need protections that will stop traitor, racist, sex offenders from running for office.
Openly lawless people shouldn’t be allowed on the ballot
Would we allow a mass murderer to run for office? What if somebody ran on the platform that he was going to detonate every nuclear weapon in our arsenal on US soil?
“Oh, he was just kidding when he said that.”
Tragically, it’s not enough to assume common sense would compel the public to make the right choice. There are some proposals that do not meet the minimal requirements of decency necessary to justify a vote.
Human rights violations do not become acceptable because a majority agrees to them.
“Let the voters decide.”
“No!”
The Presidential Oath of Office is as follows:
“I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will faithfully execute the Office of President of the United States, and will to the best of my ability, preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States.” — U.S. Constitution, Article II, Section 1, Clause 8
So, what happens to a president-elect who breaks or refuses to take this oath? What if a presidential candidate declares his willingness to “suspend” the Constitution?
That person can’t be allowed to take office. That person has been disqualified by his own words and actions. The end. It’s not complicated.
The degree of decay in our society has been exposed
How can you respect anyone you know who maintains their allegiance to a party or political philosophy that’s willing to defend and embrace a traitor, racist, or sex offender?
Tens of millions of American citizens have officially lost all touch with basic human decency.
Tens of millions of Americans have no problem with the idea of overthrowing the government or discarding the results of a free and fair election.
Tens of millions of Americans have shown they will willingly cheat in order to disenfranchise and subjugate their fellow citizens.
Fanatics who know no allegiance other than to their deranged ideology have weaseled their way into positions of power from which they will be able to overturn future elections. They’ve been working to implement this strategy since they first started telling themselves the lie that their rightful victory had been “stolen.”
It wasn’t stolen, they lost.
The only people who have ever had anything stolen from them in the United States are the innocent, hardworking, rational citizens who know that a traitor, racist, and sex offender should be banned from the ballot.
But that group of people never gets what they want.
This should not be a controversial topic
Here’s the way conversations go in the United States:
“Should everyone have the right to vote?”
“No, people should be stripped of the right to vote if they’ve been convicted of a felony. Certain groups will be the target of disproportionate police attention in order to weaken their political influence.”
“Should district lines be drawn by impartial groups?”
“No, district lines should be gerrymandered so that Republicans can win a majority of seats even with a minority of votes.”
“Should absentee voting be allowed?”
“Absolutely not, it’s too susceptible to fraud.”
“Should the votes of urban areas count the same as rural areas?”
“No, we’re going to use a system that grants greater political power to rural areas.”
“Should there be enough polling places to serve the greater populations of urban areas?”
“No, voters in urban areas should have to wait in line for twenty hours, and if you give them water you’ll be arrested.”
“Should a traitor, racist, sex offender be allowed on the ballot?”
“Of course! Removing somebody from the ballot would be a form of voter suppression. The very idea represents an unacceptable assault on our most basic Constitutional rights!”
It’s irresponsible
Do you see it yet? All the nonsense being discussed in the media has nothing to do with what is lawful. It’s not about what is fair. It’s not about what is right.
It is about applying enough simultaneous pressure at every junction point in the system to cause a catastrophic collapse. They don’t want to protect us. They want to deprive all the rational, innocent, hard-working people of their fundamental freedoms. It’s time to stop playing games.
Allowing a traitor, racist, sex offender on the ballot does nothing more than provide a suicidal nation with the means to die by its own hand.
Let’s heed the voice of reason urging us to step back from the ledge.
