Why This Man Shaved His Head and Transformed His Body Only to Look Like Vin Diesel
Arthid Duangsri is now known as the Vin Diesel of Thailand.

“All I can say is Vin Diesel is my idol who has completely changed my life,” Arthid Duangsri, a 38-year-old man living in Chiang Rai, Thailand, told Vice.
In his early years, Arthid was a skinny young man who worked as a dancer in a music band. He mostly performed in different music clubs and bars with his shoulder-length hair and a goatee beard.
As a big admirer of Hollywood action movie stars, including Vin Diesel, Jonathan Statham, Bruce Willis, and The Rock, he always wanted to look like one. Why? Because he was never satisfied with his look and style.
For years, he suffered from low self-esteem and low confidence, thinking he had no good look and style that could make him likable to others.
“I couldn’t find my own look and style and struggled to find myself. No girls liked me,” He explains.
Being dissatisfied with his own identity, Arthid was having a tough time. Then one day, while performing in a dance club, a remark from one of his friends planted a seed in his mind that later completely changed his life.
His friend told him that he would look exactly like Vin Diesel if he shaved his head.
This remark took Arthid over the moon. Being overjoyed, he rushed to the barber shop and shaved his head.
When Arthid shaved his head, he noticed his friend’s statement was true. But there was a problem; unlike Vin Diesel, his body was as skinny as a pencil.
This encouraged him to have a challenging mission. He got determined to get into shape to fully emulate his favorite Hollywood star. He made the gym his second home.
“The first thing I did was hit the gym to get ripped like Vin Diesel,” He says.
However, to get muscles like his favorite star, Arthid strictly maintained a high-protein diet.
As you know, lasting changes come after years of hard work. For Arthid, it was the same. His skinny stature didn’t magically turn into muscular. But it took several years of hard work and a ton of sweat and tears in the process.
He kept lifting like a ‘gym idiot’ for several years and then got the shape he always desired. However, his confidence and self-esteem hit the sky.
Arthid even bought a car and modified it to look exactly like the one Vin Diesel used in Fast & Furious.
His attire also changed.
When he is in public, you will always find him dressed up as Richard B. Riddick of the film The Chronicles of Riddick or Dominic Toretto of the movie Fast & Furious.
And, of course, people started mistaking him for Vin Diesel and demanding selfies in the street and malls.

Arthid, with his Vin Diesel look, broke the internet when one of his selfies went viral earlier this year. That particular selfie got shared more than 74,000 times, and people started calling him ‘Thai Vin Diesel.’
Millions of people all across the world got entertained and many found inspiration from his story. Also, he received invitations from different media houses and TV channels to share his incredible journey.
Arthid says that his biggest dream is to meet Vin Diesel in person. He wants to hug him and convey gratitude for being such a great inspiration and changing his life.
It is to note that Arthid owns a shop that sells computer hardware and other accessories. He has been running this shop for over ten years.
His employees love and respect him for his incredible transformation and enjoy his fame.
I find this Vin Diesel’s look-alike’s story very interesting. I think there is an excellent lesson for us in his story.
No — the lesson is not to hate your identity and emulate others.
Instead, the learning point is — if you are dissatisfied with your current self, you can completely change yourself with strong determination and hard work.
You can certainly turn your not-so-interesting life into a fascinating one. No one is stopping you.
