Why Taking a Long Break is Hazardous for a Writer
I am Back from a Break that led to losses, yet I am happy about it.

Recently, I took an unplanned break due to a prime festival of Diwali that we celebrate in India. It was time decorating the house, meeting, and greeting people with decent social distancing, creating some positive movements with all ones close to heart.
I was very thankful for this great festival, as it has brought back a lot of retail business again on track, resulting in the revival of the Economy.
During these days, I took an unplanned break for household chores. The consequences of that break are below, and in conclusion, I will share why I am still happy about it.
Loss of Ideas
Writing is like any other skill, as it needs proper time investment in it. You cannot create ideas out of anywhere as we feed ourselves to maintain a body. There is always a need to fill our brains with a lot of creativity to get better results.
Aforesaid, is the reason why it is always said to read more, as reading gives your mind better reflections, resulting in the right inflow of ideas.
I was on a break and was unable to read any other readers’ article. It caused me to run out of thoughts, and today when I am back, the blank draft page looked haunted to me.
Frustration
A writer/blogger knows how he feels after expressing his thoughts to the world. Below is the WWW we work towards,
Weapon of War is Writing
For a Writer best way to express himself is by writing. They can win their small life battles by sharing views with their audience that can be beneficial as life lessons to readers.
I got slightly frustrated on the end days of my break as I was missing my small world. Writing on Medium, interacting on Facebook, contributing to my blog site, and felt disconnected from the entire ecosystem altogether.
Loss of Money
Not so important one but, we all love to get a reward for our work, and the spike in rectangular statistics bars is always a sight everyone wishes to see in their profile.
As I was absent from all microblogging sites from these days, there was a steep decline in my stats, and it led to losing a lot of member reading time.
And, we all know when there is marginal members reading time, earning are in cents.
Conclusion
Above were some of the consequences of this vacation. Although they might look depressing yet, I am happy about the overall experience as it has some learnings associated with it.
- This break has given an experience that if you wish to be in the game of writing, consistency is the key, so make sure and plan the blog post and social media in advance.
- Take lessons from the past, stay for analysis, and move forward to bounce back more strongly.
- It is essential to take breaks as sometimes they provide you a different mindset and help you to ditch the regular temperament.
Thank you
