I took a mini vacation a few months ago, but stayed in town. I had an enjoyable time, but also an eye-opening experience. It gave me perspective and made me re-evaluate my life.

Recently, I went “away” and got a room at a Hilton Hotel. I stayed by the beach again; only this time in Marina Del Rey.

Here’s the view from my room:

It’s a ritzy area, but I treated myself with the refund money I wrote about. For perspective, I wanted to see how the other half lives.

ANSWER: Damn good!

  • Less to pack
  • Limited traveling fees
  • Reduced traveling time to and from destination
  • Familiarity with location, and less confusion
  • Little to no traveler’s anxiety
