Why Should We Be Humble?

Three reasons why we need to be humble

It is difficult for me to work with arrogant people. I am not sure how you feel. The problem with arrogant people is that they tend to promote themselves to be better than they are, and it isn’t easy to make true friends with them.

No matter how successful we are in life, we should maintain an attitude of humility. So I wondered, why should we be humble? Humility is essential, but why? For a few reasons, I supposed.

1. Being humble helps us in personal growth

We will strive to improve ourselves if we acknowledge our limitations and mistakes. If we lack humility, we may think our knowledge is superior, and any other suggestions are irrelevant. A lack of humility prevents us from learning from others.

2. It helps us build better friendships

We will lose a lot of friends if we are arrogant and constantly defend our position as better-informed people. Friendship must thrive in an environment of acceptance of one another; humility is one of the character traits required to build friendships.

3. It helps us to have more empathy for others

We must be humble to empathise with others about how they feel or see things from other people’s perspectives. When we lose the ability to be humble towards others, we will not be able to understand those around us. It will build walls in our communication; humility is necessary for all areas of our life.

No matter how much we have learned, there is still more to learn. Being humble is the step to receiving new knowledge. Always be humble in our communications.
