Why Rural America Supported Trump Is A Mystery

They thought he would make things better

Many still support him

When rural America’s voters cast ballots for Donald Trump in 2016, they helped him gain a victory and become President of the United States. Why they would think a billionaire who had never held a public office could be their savior is baffling (although he claims he is just that). They thought Trump was going to be good for them because he was a political outsider. Why they would think a billionaire narcissist would care about them is puzzling.

Some of those rural voters are now sporting “Biden/Harris” signs. Although many are Republicans, they have become disillusioned with Trump and his empty promises. Trump does brag that he has done more for the country than any other President ever. He says that people are better off with him in the highest office in the land. Many people totally disagree with that.

Many of the rural voters seem to now realize that he has not helped them. They have found out that he thinks mainly of himself.

When you drive through rural areas, normally you will see Trump/Pence signs. Trump still has a considerable following of people in those areas. They are unwilling to accept the fact that he has been caught in numerous lies and has bullied hundreds of people. His moral behavior is questionable. They still seem to think he is going to be more beneficial to their bottom line than Joe Biden. Most are not wealthy and worldly like he is. Yet they relate to him and think he has done a good job.

Although polls indicate that he has lost some support from people who voted for him last time, Trump still maintains a hold on millions of voters throughout the nation. Rural America is included among his supporters.

It is interesting, surprising, and unbelievable that so many people support Trump with such devotion. They think he cares about them even though he has been declared to be a malignant narcissist who cares only about himself.

Trump should definitely be voted out according to many Republicans who were formerly his friends. Joe Biden is a much better choice.
