Why Rotting Soy, Swamp Water And Cat Poop Are Good For Your Health
I couldn't make this stuff up if I tried.

Nine months ago I came to live in the east, Japan to be precise. And I have to tell you it is something of an eye opener to say the least. Here the people are so health conscious it would put the best private hospital in the Western world to shame.
One of the biggest changes I have had to become accustomed to is the diet. My wife is Japanese and puts everything we consume under the microscope. Heck, there is even a certain order in which you should eat your food to get the best health benefits you can from what you consume.
The top three shocks to my mental processing system are rotting soy ('fermented soya beans') which looks and tastes truly repulsive. However, if you can get past the disgusting taste, the health benefits are indisputable. Natto is claimed to be good for improved digestion, stronger bones, a healthy heart and brain and good for your immune system.
Next on the menu is what I call swamp water, which is in fact green tea. There are many varieties and I swear on the holy bible that the one that my wife buys and insists that I swallow has come straight from the local swamp. It has the same colour, consistency and taste. And to make matters worse she often buys green tea Kit Kats instead of the regular stuff. However, green tea is good for your heart and brain as well as certain types of cancer and Type 2 diabetes.
And so we come to Cat Poop Coffee, otherwise know as Kopi Luwac coffee. This ultra expensive coffee is made from coffee beans that have been consumed and defecated by a cat like animal called the Civet. Apparently it has a unique taste (I bet it does) and helps to protect teeth and prevents oral and breast cancer as well as Parkinson's disease, gall stones and diabetes. The only down side apart from the thought that you are drinking cat poop is that it costs about 500 dollars a pound. Now there's food for thought for you.
