Why Put More Effort Into Your Appearance
The clothes that you wear and the fact that you cut your nails, trim your beard, curl your hair and put makeup on, isn’t necessarily what makes you have value as a person, but it most certainly reflect it.
Your subconscious is very perceptive. It’s constantly evaluating you and others; it is judging others but it’s doing the same thing to you.
So when you wear loose clothes, clothes that don’t fit, you’re not putting makeup on, your subconscious is judging those things. It is evaluating your appearance and adjusting your self-worth accordingly. So there’s no way of avoiding self judgment — it’s an automatic mechanism.
By appearing well in the world, by taking care of your appearance and being perceived by yourself and others accordingly, you will feel better about your self-worth. Not because of other’s opinions, but because your subconscious picked up on that.
Your increased self-worth will automatically reflect into your level of confidence, into the way you carry yourself and into your overall wellbeing. Although it won’t automatically transform you into a better version of yourself, it will enable you, give you strength and dignity to attain your desired self in a way that reflects your worth as a person.
