Why Not Have a Staycation?
Let’s have a break nearby
If you’re tired of not being able to travel like before, why not find another way for vacationing? Leave the hassles of overplanned trips for another day and take in what a short and wonderful trip it could be if you go to a place close by.
A staycation is when you prefer to do leisure activities close to your home. Here you can have the pleasure of not having to pack huge luggage, spend hours on a plane or in a car, and support the local community!
These types of vacations are becoming even more popular because of the pandemic. It can ease the urge to spread your wings!
Let me share a story with you. As I was also taking the guidelines, restrictions, and regulations to the core, at some point I did want to have a little trip. I wanted to have a staycation in my own city and book a one-night hotel with my family. I just wanted to get out of the house for my birthday! The only prerequisite that I had was that I wanted a pool! Oh, how I long for swimming! I found a perfect one and it even had a spa and a great restaurant. I was so excited…just to have my illusions turned down. The hotel was closed due to the pandemic!!! Now, why would you have all the services up and going on the website and actually not have service! Maybe this year I’ll have my perfect staycation. 😆
So, are you craving to go out? Go on a staycation! There can be endless staycationing activities you can do! Depending on where you are, why not do something of the following?
- As mentioned before, if you are going to save money compared to a long vacation, why not spend a night in a luxury hotel? 🏨
- If these types of vibes are not for you, grab your camping gear and visit your local camping site. I bet it would be a game-changer with all the fresh air and open space compared to having to be inside all the time. ⛺️
- Have a BBQ in a park close by! 🍖
- Some restaurants may be closed but if you live in a city that is not that restricted, go out and eat! Why not start out your day with your preferred breakfast or have drinks while watching the sunset? 🌆
- Art is always changing and museums always have new exhibitions. It can be a good opportunity to engage with local artists. 🎭
As time changes, so do the possibilities to rediscover your hometown. It’s a great way to rejuvenate quickly too!
This week’s prompt is all about a staycation! Have you planed one of these short and easy trips? What happened and what did you do? Who did you go with? Did you learn something new about your hometown? Did you go to a place you’ve gone before but experienced something new? Which one do you prefer: a vacation or a staycation? Is there a travel tip regarding staycationing that you would like to share?
