Why Most of My Stories Haven’t Made Any Money in December

I always mention Medium as a platform where you can almost earn a passive income. I don’t consider it a completely passive income platform where you will always earn from your past work. Because Medium doesn’t promote stories after almost 3 months, They will promote it more if a story is really good but not more than a year.
This is the thing that declined my earnings. It was my mistake, But Medium is also playing its part in it.
In November, I didn’t write that much but crossed my September earnings because many of my old stories were performing really well. But in December, I have made $17.64 so far, which is not even half of what I earned in November, while December is near an end. I don’t think I can even cross November’s earnings.
As I have said, It’s my fault too because I have written only 3 stories, but Medium has also played its part in it.
In November, there were only 9 stories that haven’t made a single cent. But in December, there are 24 stories that haven’t made a single cent. If some of these would have made under 30 cents each, it would be almost $4 to $5 more.
But I am not sad about all this. I didn’t write that much because I was planning for something great that you will see in action in January of 2022.
I am also trying to work full-time on Medium. I will work 8 hours a day, reading, writing, and publishing on Medium for a week from today. I will try to write and publish more in December’s last week to give my account a boost and grow my stats. — Will I be able to cross my November earnings?
