Why Moscow 2022 = Munich 1939

My despair is increasing

Early in 2022, I’m suffering from increasing despair as I watch international events unfold.

It seems we never learn from history.

As I compare Moscow in 2022 with Berlin in the 1930s, with a few names changed, it seems like we’re on another merry-go-round. It’s spinning faster and faster and soon it will fall apart.

Putin knows that the West will never ‘go nuclear’ as a first actor. So, he can push the boundaries in the Ukraine.

Europe is pathetically weak and does not have the political courage to fight a conventional war against Russia.

Russia could walk into the Ukraine today and nothing would happen except a lot of hand-wringing.

Biden has threatened the most serious consequences for Russia if they invade the Ukraine.

Like what?

Putin knows that Biden will not go to war over the Ukraine.
