Why Meghan Markle Was Unwanted at Pippa Middleton’s Wedding?

On May 20, 2017, Kate Middleton, Duchess of Cambridge’s younger sister, married James Matthew, a former professional racing driver and entrepreneur, at St. Luke’s Church in Berkshire.
Meghan Markle rose to fame as Rachel Zane in the television series Suits. Her engagement to Prince Harry has sparked controversy. She wasn’t fully accepted at first because of her biracial heritage and social position as divorced.
Meghan retired from acting in 2018 after marrying Prince Harry. Later, in 2020, Meghan and Harry became even more controversial due to their decision to quit their royal duties and move to North America.
In 2016, Megan Markle and Prince Harry started dating. They manage to keep their relationship a secret for a few months, but some rumors emerged just before Pippa’s wedding. However, Marie Claire Magazine revealed ‘‘Prince Harry had been dating the former Suits actor for five months, and it was already known they were in a relationship together.”
Laura Harman’s article state that Prince William, Prince Harry, and the Duchess of Cambridge were all invited, but Meghan Markle was uninvited due to a last-minute decision made by the bride and her mother, Carole.
Mehera Bonner indicates in her article that Pippa Middleton didn’t want Meghan to be in the spotlight at her wedding, so she reluctantly invited her.
According to Alyssa Bailey, Meghan had already purchased the outfit she intended to wear for the wedding and worked with Jessica Mulroney for a look for the church ‘‘stylish without being splashy”.
However, the headline of The Sun newspaper It’s Meghan v Pippa in the…Wedding of the Rears. Harry’s girl tones bum accompanied by a picture of Meghan wearing yoga pants made Meghan decided not to attend the church ceremony. After Pippa stood out at Kate’s wedding in a fitted gown that highlighted her bottom, it was speculated that Meghan might have a similar appearance that would pique everyone’s attention.
According to Finding Freedom authors Omid Scobie and Carolyn Durand, the decision was made because the media was desperate for a photo with the couple since there were rumors that Prince Harry was dating Meghan Markle.
They could overshadow the entire event and the bride by creating an intense media circus.
As result, Harry arrived unaccompanied at the wedding, having to drop his girlfriend off to an Airbnb facility reserved for wedding guests.
Kate Middleton also declined to be a bridesmaid or Maid of Honor in order to avoid drawing attention away from her sister. Instead, she served as Matron of Honor and her children, Princess Charlotte and Prince George served as a bridesmaid and page boy.
“Kate would upstage her sister,” “It’s a tricky situation for Pippa. She would want her sister by her side, as who else would she trust to make things go well? But if your sister is a future Queen, she is going to upstage the bride and draw attention. Kate would want to be in the background as much as possible.”, affirmed Judy Wade, a royal author.
Meghan joined Prince Harry later at the final reception. There, they realized they wouldn’t be able to spend the evening together because the bride had decided that men and women would sit apart. She justified it by saying she wanted the guests to relate each other.
In a nutshell, Meghan Markle was uninvited to Pippa Middleton’s wedding because the bride was afraid Meghan would take the spotlight.
On the other hand, Meghan did not hold a grudge against Pippa, as they were later seen at events together, accompanied by the Duchess of Cambridge.
