Without marketing things can go pretty bad, I don’t want to get into all the stats but here is one. 8 out of 10 online stores fail within 24 months of business. This is a result of a lack of marketing.

Marketing is like a pathway to your customers’ subconscious. You get them to trust you without them realizing it. Well, that is my definition, yours might differ.

Why is marketing important for business?

“Marketing is about understanding our customers’ worldview and desire so we can connect with them,” says Seth Godin. Let us take note of a keyword here, “customers”. Customers are like the gas that keeps the engine of our business running.

Marketing builds that relationship you need with your customers. It helps you show your customers that your products/services are what they need.

Marketing provides you with a voice to help you communicate with your customers. This way they can see you and you can see them.

Marketing helps tell people what you have to offer

One of the primary purposes of marketing is to spread the word about your business. What it is all about and what solutions it offers to their problems.

This side of marketing, when done well, creates awareness for your brand. It helps them understand what your business is all about.

Marketing helps you identify your customers’ need

Identifying customer’s need is a very critical aspect of a business. Without knowing their needs, there is no way your product can be of help because it doesn’t solve any of their problems.

Customers’ needs are very important, I can’t seem to express this enough. The more customers’ feedback you get on their needs, the more you can fine-tune your product to their needs. When you meet their needs, it won’t take them long before they fall in love with your brand.

After getting ahold of what marketing means, it is quite difficult to know who you are marketing to. Not knowing your target audience is like an archer shooting his arrow without having a target, it is pointless.

When you know your target audience, you get to come up with a nice marketing trick. The trick will be used to sweep your audience off their feet.

Knowing the right audience means you will stop beating around the bush and hit the nail on the head. You get to stop making assumptions and also be cost-effective.

Marketing helps you build trust with your customers

Building the trust between you and your customers is a very long road with many ups and downs. To gain their trust you have to prove that your business is credible. Also, that you have their best interest at heart.

Gaining your customers’ trust is a very hard feat, it doesn’t mean it is impossible. Marketing makes the feat attainable easier.

There are tons of ways to make your customers trust you

Marketing isn’t a day’s job. sometimes it takes months, even years to build up a formidable marketing strategy or tactics that work for your business.
