Why Kristen Stark is My Favorite Comedian
Meet the next possible CEO of Medium

We don’t always get our favorite writer to read our work, let alone be our biggest supporter. It doesn’t work that way, does it? I made my peace with the fact that Zulie Rane will never read any of my work — except my cool responses to her articles. I’m kidding. I haven’t, yet. I never will.
However, I’m fortunate to be an exception with this lady. Meet my favorite comedian, my biggest supporter, and surprisingly sweet Kristen Stark.
The purpose of this article is as follows:
- To drive anyone who’s here toward Kristen if you don’t know her
- NOT to unfollow/block Kristen if you already know her
- NOT to unfollow/block me
If I have to pick only one, I’m picking — 3 in a heartbeat.
“Comedians are notorious for being full of themselves.”— Srini (not a comedian)
But not this woman. She’s one of the most down-to-earth people I’ve ever known. If you don’t believe me, don’t you dare — ask around.
Even when she was on hiatus from writing in the middle of 2022, she never stopped supporting the writers with her typical contagious energy. She’s criminally selfless.
It’s incredibly hard to write comedy. If it’s not funny, it’s incredibly hard to even read. But Kristen writes it effortlessly. She doesn’t need to write an article to prove she’s funny. She can prove that in her responses alone. SAY WHAT?
I’m not going to persuade you why everyone calls her the Queen of Medium (Only I do. And it’s the first time I did.) She’s going to persuade you herself.
Here are thirteen times Kristen slayed the internet:
- I sincerely thanked Kristine Laco for helping me with my article. But Kristen had other ideas.

2. I always try to pretend to think outside the box when writing. But Kristen goes beyond that even when responding.

3. What’s the deal with Kristen Stark and Kristine Laco?

4. Spontaneous people are so gifted. You need spontaneity to be funny. Kristen eats spontaneity for breakfast.

5. I wrote a premise based on guns. My response section is full of impressive and creative gun puns. But Kristen had a point to prove. She had to come up with something extraordinary.

6. She LOVES a good bargain.

7. She’s super authentic.

8. She thrives on self-deprecating humor — if it’s even humanly possible.

9. She’s the next possible CEO of Medium — indubitably. You might want to treat her right.

10. She’s respectful. She also knows how to plot.

11. She’s super chaotic, even for me.

12. She makes things up like nobody else.

13. She’s super profound — because she doesn’t make any sense at all.

Conclusion
Kind-hearted people are not always funny. Funny people are not always kind-hearted. But, Kristen can be both funny and kind-hearted — at the same time. Only one other person I know can manage to do that. You know who. I’ll give you a hint:
“Comedians are notorious for being full of themselves.” — Srini (not a comedian)
In all seriousness — In a world full of people who demand a quid pro quo, be like Kristen Stark! She’s the best Stark I’ve ever known, including Arya Stark and Tony Stark.

If you’re still not sold, give her one FINAL chance by reading her masterpiece — before blocking her:
