The Twin Flame Journey Is Painful, But Only For The Ego

We are on a journey of dissolution and creation, a journey of ceasing and rebirth.

Dear Soul,

How is it that the same journey that tears us apart puts our pieces together?

Well, the reason is you — a beautiful Soul — are not the one who is being thrown apart, but the Human. Just like a phoenix reborn from the ashes, we can’t be what we are meant to be until the person we used to be is left behind.

There is enough water in the ocean to fill a cup if the cup is empty. There is enough Love in the Universe to renew our minds and hearts if there is space for Love to grow in us.

Sadness is a way to make space. It expands in our chest like a tree, growing branches. It touches secret places we would rather ignore, but because of that, we know they exist.

It makes the noisiest places seem quiet and empty, so that we can listen to ourselves; and the sunniest days gray and cold, so that we can find light and warmth within.

This journey is painful because only in pain can we see our wounds and heal…

… and when nothing hurts, there is more space for Love.

Pain Reveals The Fundamental Wound In Us

The day I met you, I saw how your whole body was surrounded by a white veil. I couldn’t tell why I had an instant feeling of peace and purity. I didn’t know what a twin soul was, and even now, I see that not even this term can describe the miracle of you living in me, beyond time.

But there is something I know now: the light I saw in you from the very first day was God.

I recall the Divine Source I come from because I found it in you, and the way I see you will always be the same because you remind me of Heaven.

When physical separation occurs, it is not only the pain of losing someone we love that breaks us down but also the feeling that we are being thrown back to Earth after having a taste of God.

Something as simple as waking up next to someone who feels is your own Soul can be the most fulfilling experience in a lifetime. Yet, only physical separation from the person who makes us feel whole can reveal the fundamental wound: that experience back in time that hurt our Human so much it made us afraid of love.

In many of us, the fundamental wound is related to someone we loved deeply and “lost” when we were just a child. In others, it has to do with feeling that we are not enough for someone we have loved deeply since we were children.

For simplicity, we call these the fundamental wounds of abandonment and rejection.

As we grow, we learn to live with these open wounds in such harmonious ways that we think they are healed. Only the encounter with our twin souls touches us so deep inside that we feel the cut again.

They didn’t cause the fundamental wound in us — and we should never forget that they are carrying their own —. This pain was not born from them; it was already there, hidden in shadows.

Our fundamental wound is so significant that it shapes our core beliefs. It defines what we call true, and therefore, it can fill our minds with lies:

• “Everybody is better than me.”
• “Someone like them would never love me.”
• “I am simply not good/attractive/worthy enough.”

Facing these limiting beliefs is an expedition to the abyss, but once we see where the bruise is and remember what caused it, we can finally stop seeing it as a part of us.

We realize that this pain we have been carrying inside is not who we are, and it isn’t something we were born with, but the meaning we gave to an experience.

Now, we can choose to change this meaning.

Everything Is Taking You Closer To Healing The Wound

The pain we experience on this journey is also a sign of healing. It deconstructs so that we can construct again, moved by Self-Love and Compassion.

We are on a journey of dissolution and creation, a journey of ceasing and rebirth. There are days when you will feel embraced by hope and optimism and nights when sorrow will be an unexpected guest. Know that both are part of growing, and you are always, always making progress.

Everything is guiding you closer to that wound that is taking on too much space in your heart, and the love you will be able to experience after is what makes this journey a gift.
