Why is it Important to Own a Blog/Website — Make $1000 a Month on Average as a Blog Owner

Writing is the most enjoyable thing for many of you and most of you only write to earn money. Writing is a career. Whether you write to fulfill your passion or to pursue it as a career — you want to make money through your writing stuff. Am I right? Even if the person writes because she/he loves to write — still want to monetize their writing.

Dear, you! Who is reading this post — you might be a ghostwriter, blog writer, academic writer, or fiction or non-fiction writer on freelance sites. You might not work all the time for others. You might want to write for you sometime. You might crave to write what you love to write about. Then, what you should do? My advice, recommendation, or suggestions (whatever you consider) for you is to create a blog or website for you.

I am loving to own my personal blog nowadays because I found the importance of having my own blog. Medium is an amazing platform to run your blog. Vocal media is a good choice too. But by having your own blog — my meaning is to create your website or blog.

The reasons and importance of having your own blog (in my opinion).

Your property — your blog/website is your property. You can write what you want. As a freelance writer, you cannot write as per your choice. You have to write as per your client’s requirements. But having your own blog allows you to write what you want.

Freedom of writing — Being an owner of a blog or website, you can enjoy the freedom of writing. You can write what you love. You can write about your favorite niche. You can write in your style.

You are not bound to write — Owning a blog makes you free from deadline frustration. You can write when you want and you can skip writing on certain days when you are not in the mood of writing.

No fear — Having a blog also makes you fear-free. You are not in fear to be kicked out from the platform if you do not comply with their rules. You are not in fear of losing your blog. As a Medium writer, vocal media, or HubPages writer, you can be removed from the site anytime if Platform found you violating their policies. As Medium has changed a lot in the last 2 years. Back in 2020, it was free and accessible for everyone to join Medium Partner Program. Then, Medium makes it limited to access Partner Program. I am afraid of what change will come next. Medium removed many people’s account from the platform who in Medium’s eye doesn't comply with their policies. Plus, I also know through an article source that Medium will remove the account that are inactive for a long time (6 months).
