Why I’ll Never Party, Drink, or Hop on TikTok As a Young Girl
No, thank you.
Many people may view me as boring.
After all, I’m young.
Why not just enjoy your life, post “interesting” content on Instagram to gain an audience and earn some cash, scroll endlessly on Tiktok and hang out with the gals?
In short, “Why don’t you waste your life on little, fleeting things that have no consequential results?”
No, thank you.
I was made for more.
I don’t know who sold the lie to young ladies that the perfect life looks like being a brand ambassador on Instagram, wearing skimpy clothes, and partying during the weekends.
It’s a thwarted ideology.
Think about it:
Why would you be born only to make small waves?
Because no matter how many followers you have, there will always be someone with more followers.
No matter how many guys flock around you, there will always be another girl with more attention.
No matter how many drinks you have, someone out there will always drink more — and even get paid for it.
You weren’t made to be an attraction to people. You weren’t made for people to admire.
You are not a monument.
You weren’t created to spend three hours of your life on TikTok every day.
Or to post perfectly filtered snaps all day long.
You were made for more.
There is a lot of potential within you, within me.
Women who changed the world.
Ada Lovelace is said to be the first computer programmer in history.
Marie Curie’s discovery led to the development of cures for cancer. She founded radioactivity and her name lives in history to this day. Rosa Parks stood against racism.
Mother Theresa was a simple woman who defended the poor. Her work transformed the lives of many people.
You may never rise to the eyes of the entire world.
But when the pages of history are flipped, who will you be?
A girl who spent her time on clout? Or a woman who invested in growth and becoming the best version of herself?
A lady only known for her attractive body? Or a female with integrity and chastity, whose contribution changed lives?
You see, there is no time to waste on cheap thrills.
Being admired is great. Earning money is great. Being “chic” and “trendy” is err…well, okay.
But are those the end goal of your life?
Who do you want your daughter to see whe they are ten?
A woman who has spent her life serving others and making an impact? Or a woman caught up in the imaginary world of fun and mindless internet scrolling?
Your pick.
