Why I Write So Much
And how you can too.

Writing is difficult.
It can also be easy. It can also be fun. Ultimately, it’s the path you take with writing which determines your success with it.
Every day, I see new writers begging for writing advice or anything to jumpstart their writing career.
Advice is great, but at the end of the day, if you want to be a good writer, or just a writer for that matter, you need to write.
That’s all there is to it.
Write Every Day
Thankfully, I learned this early on in my writing career. I knew advice would only help me so much. I needed to put in the work to see any results.
So I wrote. And wrote, and wrote, and wrote.
I write every day whether I want to or not. And the more words I write, the better I grow as a writer.
On any given day, I write anywhere from 1,000 to 5,000 words. That’s not even counting notes, ideas or emails. It may seem like a lot but some writers shoot for 10,000 words. It all depends on what you’re comfortable with.
Whatever your word count, write every day. You can take days off here and there, but the more you do, the most your writing begins to rust.
Why I Write So Much
I write so much for many reasons.
One in particular? I do it to grow better.
The more I write, the easier words flow from mind to paper, the more motivated I am to write at all, the more I enjoy it. I’ve leaned you have to keep doing it; you can’t stop.
Practice makes perfect. The same goes for writing.
It’s one of those careers where you have to show up every day and do the work. If you enjoy it, it’s even better.
Closing Thoughts
If you want to be a writer, you need to write. That’s all there is to it.
There’s no magic spell or any great advice to help you produce words. Just sit in your chair and start writing.
You won’t believe your progress.
