Why I write articles with Obsidian
As a medium writer, choosing the right article editor is important.
It’s been a long time since I’ve started using Obsidian for taking personal notes. It excels in many fields, including linking your notes with others. With the graph view, you can easily see the similarities between your notes, while your brain wouldn’t have made the link: that’s why we call it an extension of your brain.
So I tried writing Medium articles on Obsidian. Here’s what I learned.
You would think, why on earth writing Medium articles on Obsidian? There’s already an editor included in Medium! Well for a lot of reasons. First of all, Obsidian compared to Medium has some features that help me be more productive. For example, it assists you in taking notes. By putting the left bracket, you get the right bracket too so you save some time. Little things like that makes writing more comfortable.
Distraction-free
But something I really appreciate is that I’m distraction-free when I use Obsidian. Let me explain. That doesn’t sound like it, but using the Medium editor can be distracting. Why? Because you are on a browser where social media is always one click from your article. Moving to Obsidian made a big difference. When I write on Obsidian, I close all browser tabs, and I start writing.

It allows me to concentrate on my articles, rather than anything else, in a world where we’re so distracted. And since I’m more focused on my articles, I’m making more quality content (at least I hope!).
