Why I was unsuccessful and unable to make money online

Learning from mistakes is essential, and there are two ways to do it: by making your own mistakes or by learning from others.

That’s why I’m sharing my story with you. After reading this, you’ll understand where I went wrong so you can avoid making the same mistakes.

  1. Business Hopping:

One big mistake I made was jumping from one business idea to another. It’s good to try different things, but sticking to one thing is even more important. Find something you love and build a business around it. When I first started trying to make money online, I tried everything: Dropshipping, Print-on-Demand, Social Media Marketing Agency (SMMA), and more. I was even building a web app while exploring these side hustles. But jumping around like this led to failure in every venture. I didn’t do well in any of them because I didn’t really enjoy them. When problems came up, I just gave up. So, focus on one thing that you’re passionate about. Don’t get distracted by other “easy money” methods. They rarely work, and if they do, they’re not easy.

2. Feasibility:

Another key factor to consider is the realism of your business idea. You need to choose an idea that has a good chance of success, meaning it shouldn’t be too complex or unstable. If you truly believe in it, then go ahead and choose it, but be prepared for everything. When I developed my first web app, an AI shopping assistant, I thought it was a great idea. But was it realistic? No, it wasn’t, at least not for me. Upon its launch, the app was slow and buggy. Moreover, the costs of using ChatGPT and other APIs were excessively high. After just a few days, I had to shut down the app. It’s always important to consider whether your idea is feasible and if you have the necessary tools and budget for it.

3. Be Happy when you Fail:

Failing is part of the journey. Everyone fails, but it’s how we learn and get better. Failing doesn’t mean you’re a failure, but not trying at all does. I failed many times with different ideas, but eventually, something worked. This was because I learned from my mistakes. Now I focus on what I like, and the results come naturally. Success doesn’t happen overnight. It comes after you’ve spent time on the wrong things, learned about topics that don’t help, and wasted resources on projects that don’t work out. But if you keep trying, you’ll find what you love, make money from it, and be successful. Plus, you’ll have gained a lot of knowledge and experience along the way.

4. Pursue Passion Over Money:

One critical lesson I’ve learned is that chasing money is not a wise primary motivation in starting an online business, or any venture in life. The true essence of success lies in enjoying the journey and loving what you do. Starting an online endeavor solely for financial gain sets a fragile foundation. If the anticipated profits don’t materialize quickly, it becomes all too easy to feel discouraged and give up. Instead, as I’ve mentioned before, it’s crucial to center your efforts around a passion. Set goals that go beyond financial outcomes. For instance, aim to consistently enhance the quality of your offerings, or strive to elicit positive feedback from your community. These objectives not only foster personal growth and satisfaction but also often lead to financial success as a natural byproduct of your dedication and hard work. In my own journey, shifting my focus from monetary goals to a commitment to excellence and community engagement has been transformative. It’s not just about the income anymore; it’s about creating something valuable and meaningful. This approach has not only been more fulfilling but has also yielded greater achievements in the long run.
