Why I use Notion and What I Think of It

These days, there are a lot of productivity apps that rule. Everybody has different taste on what to look for in those apps. Apps that only have to-do lists, apps that notify you about your appointments, apps that have it all. I use Notion.

What is Notion

The Notion app is a productivity app that you can use for everything you like. It called blocks. You can make different workspace on the app. In each workspace, you can add a block. A block could be a link you add to Notion or a page you add to your workspace. Even you write a sentence in Notion, but only when you press enter, then you have a new block.

“We want to break away from today’s tools — and bring back some of the ideas of those early pioneers.

As a first step, we are blending much of your workflow into an all-in-one workspace. Want a task list? A product roadmap? A design repository? They are now all in one place. You can even customize your own workspace from dozens of LEGO-style building blocks.

Solve your problems your way, bounded only by your imagination.” — Notion

So, only you’re the person who can solve the problems you have for anything in your life. If you want to play music, but you don’t want to have endless lists on your desk, then make a list on Notion. Get notifications and get ready. You can even make a whole plan for anything you like or a blog post.

How to use Notion

  1. Add an account by registering yourself or your company. It doesn’t matter how your account is called. It does matter you’re content with that name.
  2. Name your workspace. When you have registered, at the same time you have to name your workspace as well. I already have seventeen workspaces, each with thousands of blocks. That is a lot.
  3. Read the ‘Getting Started’ page. This is the introduction page on Notion when you started a workspace. You will find lots of templates to use, but you also can start with a blank page or a blank page with a logo. They’re all fun.
  4. And go ahead with, play with it. This is very important when you start using Notion. You have to get uses to their interface and the way to use Notion.
  5. Invite members. Do this when you have a company with coworkers and you are collaborating together on projects.

Why I use Notion

I love using this application. It is an easy way to use and I love the interface. Just simple. No fancy look. There is everything you need to be productive here. It helps me to be more productive. I use it for writing my first book, stories here on Medium, Substack other platforms. But I also use it for personal purposes. I just love it.
