Why I Take Undistracted Daily Walks and Why You Should Start Too

This is non-negotiable for me

I love taking walks, I have been taking walks for as long as I remember.

If time wasn’t an issue, I would walk everywhere every day.

Unfortunately, time is important in day-to-day life, which is why my walking time is usually limited to 15 minutes a day. These 15 minutes of walking are usually the most important in my day.

Here are the benefits of walking at least 15 minutes a day:

Physical benefits

I am no doctor, but walking 15 minutes a day has helped me be more energetic, stay in better shape, and keep my joints healthy.

Last year I injured my ankle when running and stopped taking walks for about a month and I felt more sluggish and heavy.

Mental benefits

Whenever I feel sad or stressed about a situation and am not sure how to proceed, I walk. I have found that walking is a great way to clear your head, calm down, and make better decisions.

Mindfulness

Anxiety is becoming more and more common nowadays. Taking a walk, especially in nature, can improve your anxiety levels by making you more mindful of your surroundings, forcing you to get out of your head for a bit.

When walking outside, try to take in all the details around you. The color of the trees, the smell of fresh air, the sounds of cars or birds, etc. This will instantly make your walking experience better.

Take a walk, you'll thank yourself for it.
