Why I Hate Asking for Directions in Bali
There’s only one answer, and it’s not the right one!

On the way to Ubud, our moped went through a ton of four-way junctions. Did a single one have a road sign? Of course not.
Pre-google maps, about 2 hours of driving guesstimating got us lost. Time to ask for directions.
Every single person said the same words, with a quizzical shrug of the shoulders,
“Go down there and then turn left”.
Repeatedly, about ten different people said this at different points.
Was this some sort of joke?
It was never down there.
It was never on the left.
There’s only so many left turns you can take till you end up back where you started.
Around, in an endless circle of going down there on the left.
Be warned, in Bali, I’m pretty sure “Down there, on the left,” means “I don’t know.”
