Why I Enjoy Recharging My Life A Trinket At A Time

Looking For Stories

I love change. Most of the time it makes me more energetic, and lively. I have found out that even taking a different walking route, or watching a new kind of movie, or reading a new book, can make me feel better. That’s what I look for when I need to recharge: change.

Change is part of our life and it is not always easy to implement. Our relationships, our bodies, and our way of living change. But small changes are invigorating.

So, to get new energy I look for change, or I do something unusual or different. The special place I visit to feel good is a flea market. There are lots everywhere. Some are selling antiques or used stuff, but others allow you to travel in time and place. You can find an old book with pictures of World War II, a leather jacket which was fashionable in the seventies (I bought one for twenty euros and I love it), ceramic plates from Africa, and lamps. Anything.

The world in one shop. There are stories of people from different ages and countries: every object has a history. I don’t necessarily shop when I am at the market, but I always find new ideas and new energy. I love the notion of giving new life to old or used items, it helps people be more economical and earn a little money, helping the environment along the way. Some of the things I love the most in my house come from these markets.

As you can see, the reason why I own those items and why I am writing my article is because I love sharing stories, and I know they give new energy to all of us. A story can change the way you feel and show you how rich life can be.
