Why I created a website, and I only wrote one article for an entire year
I had no interest in what the site was all about

Several years ago, I created a website dedicated to digital marketing. I designed it, invested dozens of hours optimizing it, and only wrote one article for an entire year.
I was plagued with writer’s block. I couldn’t make myself even try to write an article, and it was all because I was trying to write about something I wasn’t interested in.
You need to put your interest and your passion at the center of your work
The only way to succeed
The most common advice you will see on Medium is that you need to be consistent. The only way to ensure you will be consistent over a long period of time is that you are passionate about what you are doing.
Consistency is at the core of any endeavor because it trumps almost everything else.
Someone who constantly puts in the work improves and shows up no matter the circumstances eventually will have a breakthrough and succeed.
It might take you months, years, or decades to achieve the results you are after, but it will happen eventually.
You might not become a gazillionaire, but you will probably meet some amount of success if you are working and improving constantly. Furthermore, it doesn’t even really matter unless you have some specific purpose that requires large amounts of money.
Most people want to have meaning in their life and to be happy. Regardless of wealth, there is a point where your happiness won’t increase with the additional income. On the other hand, the responsibilities and stress that could overwhelm you will increase.
I published 49 articles. The sole reason I managed to do that was that at the center of my writing lies my passion for the topic I am writing about.
I am not crazy successful because of it, I only earn a few bucks on Medium but I managed to land a few writing clients that helped me gain hundreds of dollars.
I couldn’t have done it if I continued pursuing a path that doesn’t speak directly to my soul, and I am pretty sure that anyone who tries it will burn out in the long term.
Find what you love and keep running towards it, you will find what you are looking for, and you will be able to handle almost any challenge that is thrown at you.
