Why Engaging Every Bounty Hunter in A.C Odyssey Can Fuck You!

They’re not important, who the fuck are they?!

Taken By Author

As far back as I can remember, taking on every opposition in the game prepared me for taking out the bigger or biggest baddies to which there were MANY! However, in Assassin’s Creed Odyssey, doing this can cause a different demand of sorts from your playthrough, from you.

I’m strictly talking about the various bounty hunters that come after you based on the bounty on your head, it cannot be argued that every bounty hunter in the Greek World knows you and knows that you’ve taken out their brethren.

I can say that fighting these assholes aren’t an issue. The big issue is how many come after you at a time which can cause a big problem for you especially if you haven’t mastered the timing of the Perfect Evade/Time Slow Evade.

Taking on one bounty hunter is a headache, taking on two at a time, shit can go from crazy to downright fuckin’ unfair in seconds. And, as much as it pains me to say this, from experience, more times than not you’re going to die. Period. Plain and simple! Dying sucks!

The bounty hunters all have great gear and some of it legendary, but that doesn’t mean that trying to strong arm them for it by going through every one of their little coworkers as it were, will get you that gear any faster. Timing and biding it is the key.

Plus, the bounty hunters aren’t that important as a whole. Yeah, they have gear pieces that you want and definitely need but treating them like a non-option is definitely advised.

Don’t make it your life’s work trying to take on more than one. I mean, if you think you have a shot, go for it but 9x out of 10, you’ll have more attention on you than you need or want.

I can say though, generally speaking, that when you kill 3 bounty hunters in the area you’re in, the next one, the untouchable, until you get two levels under theirs, will back off. They won’t come after you, but that won’t stop those on the same level as you from doing so.

So my advice for dealing with the bounty hunters is this, take on one in the area you’re in and if it helps, take them out with using abilities that deal a lot of damage per hit like Fury of the Bloodline, Hero Strike to name a couple. I found both abilities to be very useful in killing bounty hunters.

The Overpower Ability combined with the Daggers is a really great single enemy heavy damage dealer. Here’s another tip, fight the bounty hunter on the ground, particularly wherever you are and do a combo using your Overpower Ability with the daggers, to see if that bounty hunter get pushed back after the completion of your combo.

If they get pushed back, that means they can be easily pushed off a cliff or any high place particularly a roof of a house. So lure them up there, use your daggers or sword or even axe using the Overpower Ability and knock them off from that high place to get rid of them quickly and instantly.

I can tell you now that if you engage every bounty hunter that come before you, it’s going to seem like they’re coming is endless because like grey hairs, when you pluck one, 3 more grow in its place and it’s going to piss you off!

So my secondary advice is this. Kill one bounty hunter then get out of sight or ‘off world’ to avoid the next one. Try to take on one bounty hunter in different areas. That way, you’re spreading them out so you’re not taking on 2, 3 or even 4 at a time in the same place.

And, I probably don’t need to say this but I will anyway, if you’re getting beat too badly while battling a bounty hunter, get away and find some place to hide until your health refills then find that bounty hunter and finish the job! I’ve done this, their life meter will be exactly as it was when you pick up the fight. From experience.

So in closing, don’t get crazy about trying to battle every bounty hunter. Try to prioritize the ones with legendary gear, they move to the top of the list for obvious reasons. Battle and destroy them, claim your ‘birthrights’.
