Why Don’t You Protest The Scam That Is The American University?
If you have student loans, you might be familiar with this story. All through high school, Larry has been told by his parents and teachers that the goal is to go to college. And that he needs good grades because otherwise he’ll end up flipping burgers, which is apparently way worse than being a prostitute or being unemployed.
Larry doesn’t know his career path, but he is excited to go to the university because that means he won’t be a loser like Nick, who chose to become a crime scene cleaner for $20 an hour and great health insurance. So Larry takes out a $65,000 loan that everyone around him claims he can pay off in 15 years because Larry will never want to buy a house, pay his future ex-wife alimony, buy toys for his kids, get cancer, or have an actual life.
Oh, Larry! Bless your heart, you stupid 18 year-old son of a bitch.
Average cost of college has jumped an incredible 3,009% in 50 years according to a Yahoo article from 2019. And these are the last statistics I’m going to give you because we don’t have to be master researchers to know this is true, and that this is part of a scam. Whoever’s in charge of these universities are pure cocksucking pieces-of-shit motherfuckers, who steal tax-payer money and don’t give a flying fuck about the lives of the students after they graduate.
It all starts with the puppets from the admissions and loan departments. They know that you’re fucked as they are fully aware of the salary range and the job market reports of the student’s chosen major. But they get paid to inform you that you will owe money from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. They don’t care about you even though they like to pretend they do. Make no mistake, this is a business transaction from the start.
They will argue that they showed you and your parents a list of the payments you’ll be making, and exactly how much you’ll end up paying through the years. But you were such an ignorant fuck that you agreed to everything. And that is absolutely right. All of us, who struggle to pay for this diabolical loan, were ignorant, 18 year-old fucks.
Our parents aided in that process by encouraging us to sign because, let’s get real, it’s very easy for anyone to encourage you to get a loan when they won’t be the ones paying for it. Let me remind you that these are also the people who never taught us about finances. It shouldn’t come as a surprise that they also don’t have their shit together. In their defense, this infernal pact with the University of Sallie Mae is something completely new. Never in the history of assholes, has anyone ever paid $650.31 a month for their schooling with a $50 thousand a year entry level salary. Anyone who isn’t a schizophrenic knows that’s fucking insane because more than half of that bill goes to interest payments. This means, people who are anally raped — aka the borrowers — will finish paying off their loan the day they get new dentures before moving to Florida.
HaHa! Moving to Florida! To a retirement community? Good luck with that. Between the lenders and the government, your titties will be dry by the time you die. They don’t care whether you pay it off or not. We are their lifelong piggy bank. Student loans are not like mortgages. You can’t just declare bankruptcy, and make it go away. They work with you so you can have a small bill, and you think they’re helping you, but they’re not. Overtime, they get a lot more than you owe them fivefold.
But was it the lenders’ and the government’s fault that we were total dumbasses who signed Ursula’s contract? In part, yes, but I believe the main scammers are the universities; the universities who raise tuition higher than inflation. They lure minority students, whom they know will get financial aid from the government, by making it easier for them to be accepted into college through abusing Affirmative Action and other government policies.
Your future is IRRELEVANT to the scammers within these institutions who don’t deserve our respect. I won’t respect corruption or people who accept bribes. I refuse to respect the academia that actively knows their graduates struggle to survive in the world and do nothing to help them. They should be the ones reformed or shut down. They should be the ones scared of protestors on campuses.
I am well-aware that for most of us there is no solution, and that we’ll continue to carry this burden to our graves. I don’t believe in student loan forgiveness as it is my duty to take responsibility for my mistakes. However, we can make it a better world for future generations by calling out the evil institutions actively ran by a few elites getting rich off of scamming teenagers.
