Why does Bill Maher associate Robert Altman with Moving Out of the USA?
Altman said it, but… that was 18 or 19 year’s ago and… More to come!

Or a Minor “Nit-Picking” Disagreement

Bill’s monologue ended with people who were saying they wanted to leave the United States. He cited some good statistics on homosexuals being put to death in some countries, while those who got abortions in other countries were put to death. Is this worth leaving here — Bill asked — I’m paraphrasing, of course, leaving here for someplace worse?
He said these celebrities had said they wanted to leave the U.S. but never did — except Robert Altman.
Robert Altman directed TV shows such as: The Whirlybirds, many Bonanza episodes and many films. Here that are his most notable:
M*A*S*H (1970) MacCabe & Mrs. Miller (1971) The Long Goodbye (1973) Nashville (1975) 3 Women (1977) The Player (1992) Short Cuts (1993] Gosford Park (2001)

I saw him after he had completed the film Vincent & Theo about Vincent van Gogh as seen through the eyes of his brother Theo. The film was featured at The Mill Valley Film Festival in 1990.
He spoke to a group, of which I was a part. Someone asked if he could sum up all his films — what were they about?
His answer:
If you see a line of ants moving on the ground. And a couple of them move out of line, those are the one’s your likely to step on.
I met him backstage and asked him how I could be a part of his next film (The Player — with Tim Robbins). He slyly told me. But I didn’t get it, until 6 months later. I took a different route…
Robert Altman’s Big Exit
Not only did Altman leave the U.S. in 2006, he left the planet. Now Bill may not take stock in an afterlife — I think he is agnostic on the subject. Robert Altman died from complications related to Leukemia. Did he become worm food for Earth? His body may have, or maybe his body was embalmed. His spirit was released to a lifetime of experiences in the afterlife where time does not exist. As a seer, healer, and medium I have seen others crossover. There is no hell and no heaven either — it is “a place” (without substance) to review all the choices you made and the ones you didn’t make.
While before 2006 he may have said he would leave the US — probably due to George W. Bush having been re-elected, but he didn’t leave. He died instead. That’s a pretty big exit.
The Big Goodbye…
All in all Bill Maher’s end piece of “New Rules” was filled with irony, ignorance and a lack of critical thinking. Not Bill, but on the part of the people who said, in effect, the U.S. is not a perfect utopia. So if the opposing party wins “I’ll move to another country” — type statements.
66 countries where homosexuality is illegal 13 countries Atheism is punishable by death
